CTS Snapshot

Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Students:

• Mr Gourlay has nominated Year 8 students Cameron, Brandon, Michal and Lukasz for showing superb programming skills in the recent Raspberry Pi Scroll Bot module in Computer Science.
• Mrs Brown has nominated Year 11 student Matish for extra commitment to work outside class and outstanding outcomes for English Literature.
• Mr Williamson has nominated the following Media students, Year 9 Adrian for his photoshop skills, Year 10 students Paris and Amy for excellent effort in lessons on the US film industry and Year 12 student Dany for effort outside lessons and working ahead of schedule with planning and photoshoots for NEA magazine brief.
• Miss Willams has nominated Year 7 students Ksennija for helping others in Science in preparation for their test and Adam for going above and beyond in his efforts. Also nominated are 7CA students Amelia and Lily for organising and delivering and assembly to the rest of the year for their PiXL edge tasks, Year 9 student Kiero for his excellent play in badminton and rugby lessons and finally Year 9 boys for their participation in rugby sessions with Northampton Saints.
• Mrs Vaghadia has nominated the Year 13 Psychology students for their excellent delivery of the PowerPoint presentations, in particular Aaron and Malika.
• Mr Horne would like to say well done to Year 8 students Wojiech, Holly and Daisy and Year 9 student Sam for their participation in the UK Maths Challenge, resulting in 6th place, well done.
• Mrs Morgan would like to say well done to the Year 11 VCert students who completed their Food and Cookery this week.
• Mr Lee has nominated his Year 7 Mathematicians for their work this week on Compound Interest and for being fantastic ambassadors of the schools when a visitor was in school.
• Miss Fenner has nominated Year 11 English student Keiran for his excellent contributions and commitment to studies and Year 9 students for their excellent focus and enthusiasm on studying GCSE poems.
• Mrs Hopkins has nominated Year 11 Historians for working so hard on their mocks that on average every students made one grade improvement! Well done!
• Miss Connellan has nominated Year 9 students Aleksander, Hana, Dominika and Indira for their extra work outside of lessons and fantastic effort towards their GCSE English work.

Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.

• Year 7 Parent/Consultation Evening will take place on Wednesday 10th April, please book your appointments via the Parent Booking system using the login details sent to you.
• Year 8 Curriculum Options Evening will take place on Wednesday 17th April, places can be booked using the Parent Booking system.
