A Message from the Principal
Hello ALMS Families,
Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful and warm Thanksgiving/Native American Heritage break! This week, we closed out November with a mindful and kind activity. During lunch, our students took part in the creation of a chain to spread kindness! See below for images and a description!
We have more new content from the ALMS Media Club! Mr. Ettlinger is the star of this week's Teacher Feature, and we have two more recordings from the Game On Sports Casters! Next week, you can look for two new interviews from exciting up-and-comers. One is straight from our blue couch, and the other is a brand-new podcast!
We would also like to promote some upcoming events. The Student Council will hold a 7th grade Movie Night and their annual Holiday Boutique. Fliers for both can be found below! There is also a new and exciting event, this time for our 7th graders; Bongo's Bingo will be hosted by our 7th-grade advisors, Mrs. Bongo and Mr. Silviotti. Get your bingo cards ready, and see our little ad below explaining the details. Look out for future bingo events for all grades!
Finally, an upcoming PTA meeting, scheduled for January 10th, will focus on PAVE, Performing and Visual Arts with Mr. Matthew Lucero. See the "PTA News" section below for the flyer!
Warm regards,
Camille Edwards-Thomas

Teacher Spotlight
Our ExStream Classes studied energy last week. Specifically, all about coal! They performed a lab with chocolate chip cookies to understand what coal mining does to the land! They attempted to remove only the chocolate chips from the cookies with nothing but a toothpick! See below for some images from the lesson!
Every Kind Act has a Chain Reaction
- What are some things you can say or do to help someone who is feeling down because of bullying?
- Why is it important to be kind to others and treat them with respect, even if they are different from you?
- What are some ways you can empower yourself and others to stand up to bullying?
- How would you handle a situation in which you or someone you know is being bullied on social media?
Each grade level was given the challenge to create the longest chain by working together to complete the prompts. The 6th Grade was the winners of the challenge.
