Cucinella Weekly Wrap-Up #14
Week of December 4, 2023
“WHATEVER YOU ARE, BE A GOOD ONE.” ― ABRAHAM LINCOLN
Week Fourteen:
As we inch along through the holiday season, Cucinella continues to be full of fun and enriching learning opportunities. Mrs. Sue Murphy wrapped up the third session of her Whole Body Learning lessons with all of our homerooms early in the week. In each session, Mrs. Murphy leads the students through age appropriate strategies on managing stress, body awareness, concentration, and relaxation. We want to give Mrs. Murphy a big THANK YOU for providing this great experience for our students!
Last week our students participated in the worldwide Hour of Code initiative. The Hour of Code is a free introduction to computer science through fun activities and videos for learners of all skill levels. In Library Technology classes with Mrs. McCarty, the students practiced their coding skills creating their own games and programs. Our third grade students had a blast coding and using their Sphero Bolts with T&G teacher Mr. Matt Dauchert over the course of the week. Mr. Dauchert joined all of the third-grade classes for this fun, hands-on activity where students continued exploring coding with the use of robotics!
Later in the week, SRO Adam Feitcher of the Washington Township Police Department spoke with our 1st grade students about his job as a police officer. Each homeroom had an opportunity to ask questions and learn about the different activities he does in his day to day job helping our community. Officer Feitcher then brought the students outside to see a police car and learn about some of the equipment police officers use such as their life saving equipment, communications computer, and radar equipment.
Friday also marked the end of the first trimester of the school year. Report cards are now available to view in the parent portal of OnCourse.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and stay tuned for more exciting events and updates from Cucinella! If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me at cperruso@wtschools.org.
From all of us at Cucinella, we would like to extend the warmest wishes as well as our gratitude for all of the support you continue to provide to us throughout the year. We are thankful for you!

Cucinella Lost and Found
If your child is missing something - coats, sweatshirts, hats, water bottles, etc. - please remind them to check our ever-growing lost and found. It is currently overflowing with items. The lost and found is located inside the cafetorium, near the water filling stations. We are happy to help students if they are looking for something in particular. Please notify either your child's teacher or the main office secretaries if you need assistance.
Pick Up Patrol
PickUp Patrol has been in effect for the past year and we are very happy with the positive feedback we have been receiving from the community. PickUp Patrol is used not only for drop off and pick up procedures, but also for recording your child's absences.
Please click here to review how to use the program to record absences.
