Important ALMS News
Dear ALMS Families,
I would like to inform you with great sadness and excitement that I will be the new Director of Performing and Visual Arts of the City School District of New Rochelle. While my official start date is set for September 25th, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all as I prepare for the transition from my current role as an assistant principal at Albert Leonard Middle School. It has been an honor to be a part of this esteemed community.
I am a classically trained pianist and violinist who, prior to joining the team at Albert Leonard, began my career as a music educator. During my tenure as the K-12 music department chair in the Nyack Public Schools, I had the privilege of working with students and staff from elementary through secondary levels and guiding the department in developing new arts programs while maintaining strong support for existing ones.
I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to collaborate with the talented faculty and students at New Rochelle. I firmly believe in the transformative power of the arts and its ability to inspire and enrich lives. I am dedicated to fostering an environment that promotes creativity, innovation, and inclusivity for the holistic development of our students.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you all in my new capacity. Together, we will continue to elevate the arts programs of New Rochelle as we continue to create meaningful and inspiring experiences for our students and the community at large.
Sincerely,
Matt Lucero
Fun Friday
We SURGE into September by welcoming students back to ALMS with a Photobooth Fun Friday activity. Every month ALMS will engage in activities that represent our monthly themes. SURGE stands for S-elf control, U-nique, R-espectful, G-oals E-ffort. Our students, teachers, and staff were excited to take photos and begin the school year with our first Fun Friday activity!

Chromebook Responsibilities
To ALMS Parents and Students,
As a Middle School student, you are required to come to school with your district-provided chromebook charged. The district-provided chromebook is also your responsibility; if it's in your backpack, locker, on a bus, or at home, you must keep it protected from being damaged or lost/stolen.
Please refer to the AUP and Device Loaner Form, which you have signed with your parent/guardian, and review the terms and conditions listed on the form both inside and outside of school. If you have not already signed the AUP and/or Loaner Form, please click on the link above.
To all parents/guardians, please speak with your child regarding Chromebook care and responsibilities. Some of the computers are damaged due to students spilling liquids, tossing them to the ground during recess, getting knocked around in a backpack, or dropping them. Damaged Chromebooks are subject to fees. You may want to consider purchasing a case as was indicated on the school supply list.
You can refer to our Acceptable Use Policy and Device Loaner Form (linked above) for the CSDNR policy.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
