Dear IG Families:

Well, the snow is gone. What a strange winter! We have had more inside recess days lately due to rain. That's not typical for January in Rochester! We are hoping for snow here at Ivan Green, since we are supposed to have an outdoor snow play day next week. We may need to revise our plan, so stay tuned.

We hope you can get your children outside to play this weekend. They have tons of energy built up from the week of indoor play.

Our first-grade classes (and teachers) led the school Community Circle this morning. Ask your Ivan Greener about the Olaf dance. It was a blast!

Our Secondhand FreeMarket is back! We hope to make it a fun springtime event for years to come. If you are planning clothing or household donations in the coming months, please consider saving them for this event. Donation drop-offs will be Thursday, May 18th, and Friday, May 19th.

We are very excited to celebrate World Read Aloud Day on Wednesday, February 1st at Ivan Green. According to the LitWorld website “World Read Aloud Day began in 2010 to celebrate the power of reading aloud to create community and amplify new stories.” Our goal for our 2023 celebration here at Ivan Green is to do just that. In order to create community and amplify new stories, each classroom will have at least 1 guest reader.
