About the Ag-Lab Erasmus+ Project
Ag-Lab aims to improve the quality control of agro-food products in three recently associated EU member countries (Georgia and Moldova and Ukraine) by improving upon the training of their specialists .
The project deals with the part of the Agreement related to food and agricultural products safety which can be ensured through appropriate laboratory control of EU legislation and standards.
The project will, over the 3 years of its duration, create 4 specialized courses dedicated to laboratory practice in agro-food sector: veterinary medicine, agronomy, animal husbandry and food technologies.
4 expected project outcomes:
- Elaborated training courses and obtained necessary competences for students and laboratory staff;
- Trained teacher teams;
- Pedagogical supports;
- Created tools for cooperative teaching with the participation of universities and acting laboratory staff
A Consortium of 19 partners
Ag-Lab Moodle platform
Ag-Lab will provide its stakeholders with a new approach to teaching specialized courses through laboratory practice for specialists of the agro-food sector in the partner country HEIs. This will be achieved through the permanent exchange among teachers, laboratory specialists and their EU colleagues via the Ag-Lab Moodle portal.
Capacity Building in Georgia, Moldova & Ukraine
Results so far...
- referenced the competences and skills required for the training of specialists;
- started work on the 4 specialized courses dedicated to Laboratory practice;
- carried out 4 training sessions for Georgian, Moldovan and Ukrainian Professors in EU parther HEIs:
Training sessions in EU HEIs
The 1st training took place at the University of Teramo, Italy
2nd session was organised by VetAgroSup Lyon, France
3rd Training took place at Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Poland
and the final Training course was carried out at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia
Project Dissemination
Ag-Lab participated in the French-Ukrainian Agricultural days which took place from 28th May until 1st June in Odessa, Ukraine.
Work Package 4 (Dissemination) leader "ISLE Association" was able to disseminate the Ag-Lab project during a dedicated session hosted by Ag-Lab partner Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies
