Principal's Message
Happy March!
Wow! What a winter we have had! I sincerely hope we start to see some of this green out and about soon. Speaking of winter, I want to give a shout-out to our maintenance and transportation departments. They work tirelessly and at the wee hours of the morning and night to be sure our schools and buses are prepared and safe for students. We couldn't do what we do each day without them. Some of our students start and end their days with these individuals and their interactions are impactful.
February has been a month of gains and one loss. We were sad to give the snowball trophy away to our Sunset. However, we are excited for out Sunset friends and the competition next year! You can bet that the students will be ready to read their little hearts out to win it back!
As you can tell by the schedule below, March starts our busy season here at school. Make sure to read all the way to the end. There won't be a week that something isn't happening. Please be sure to follow our school Facebook and/or Instagram and website. Your child's teacher will also be able to answer questions about happenings here at school and the classroom. Feel free to reach them by email, phone or classroom Bloomz.
Snowshoeing is always a highlight of the year. Thank you to Mrs. Schramm for organizing, parent volunteers, our PTK for providing a donation to the Nordic Ski Association and the Park County Nordic Ski Association for allowing us to use the groomed trails. Students are always very excited during this time. What a great way to get our students outside and enjoying nature!
Third trimester has begun, we are on the downhill slide towards the end of the year. Students will continue to work hard to prepare for not only the next grade but state testing too. Teachers will continue to have high expectations for students and provide the best possible education. Please be on the lookout in April for the schedule for WY-TOPP testing.
Keep reading with your students, taking them outside and collecting real-life experiences. There is something to be said about students who have the opportunity to get out and experience what our world has to offer. We are so blessed here in Cody to have so many opportunities right at our doorsteps. I hope you are able to take advantage of just a few of them as the weather starts to get nicer. I hope you enjoy a picture of one of my favorite outdoor activities. While this isn't the trophy antelope I was hoping to get, it was an experience and a core memory nonetheless.
Thank you for sharing your children with us at Livingston. There isn’t a day that goes by without many students making us all smile. They amaze each one of us every day. I am in awe of the lessons our teachers are presenting to students and how excited they are to learn. They are why we do what we do each day and we are grateful for them and you. So thank you.
Have a wonderful March! -Mrs. Lewis

3rd Grade Swimming Lessons
Free swimming lessons are being offered by the Rec Center to 3rd graders March 6 through March 16, Mondays through Thursdays, unless otherwise noted. Class sizes are limited to 12 students per class. Due to class sizes and to maximize the time allowed for teaching swim classes, there are two different time slots; 3:40 to 4:10 p.m. and 4:15-4:45 p.m. Once both lessons are complete all children still in the pool will be directed to the locker rooms to change.
Rec Center registration forms and information about the swimming lessons are being sent home this week, information about the lessons are also on the Livingston website at https://5il.co/1gta1. Completed registration forms need to be returned to the Rec Center. A bus will transport students from Livingston to the Rec Center, parents will pick up their student after the lesson. Parents must pick their student up at the Rec Center NO LATER than 5:00 p.m.
Make sure your student leaves home with their swimming clothes and a towel!

Arrival and Dismissal
Students need to be outside or at breakfast in the morning.
Breakfast starts at 7:45am
Time before school is used by teachers to plan and prepare lessons and materials. Because teachers are unavailable to supervise them, we cannot allow students to be in the hallways before 8:10am, unless you have arranged tutoring.
Instructional Bell- 8:10am
If you arrive after the bell you will be marked tardy.
Tardy: The elementary schools of Park 6 take attendance twice daily. Attendance is taken first thing in the morning and afternoon. In the morning , students who are late but arrive before 8:30 are counted tardy. If they arrive after 8:30, they would be considered absent for the morning. In the afternoon, students absent longer than 20 minutes after 11:30 will be considered absent for the afternoon.
Note: Habitual tardiness is dealt with at the building level. Five (5) tardies to school equal one unexcused absence.
Dismissal Bell-3:15pm
Friday Dismissal-Early out every Friday-1:35pm
Please call the office before 2:30pm if you have a change in after school plans. This helps with getting notes to the children in a timely manner. If we don't hear from you, we will assume to continue on with regular after school plans.

Title I News and Information
National Conference for Title I
Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. McCue attended the National Title I conference this past month in Indianapolis. We learned more about the rules and regulations regarding Title I compliance, we networked with other educators across the nation, and we learned all about resources and innovative ideas other schools are using to increase student success.
We continue to pull small intervention groups to work on reading and math. We use the FastBridge data as well as classroom data to place students in intervention groups. Check out this link if you would like more information regarding the differences between the FastBridge universal screener and the FastBridge progress monitoring: https://fastbridge.illuminateed.com/hc/en-us/articles/1260802360409-From-Screening-to-Progress-Monitoring
