Spring is in the air! It is hard to believe we are in the last quarter of the school year. We are so proud of our students and ALL the growth we have seen throughout the year. Thank you parents for your continued support and partnership this school year.

Our next and final scheduled Parent Lunch on the Lawn is Friday, May 6.

Lunch times are listed below. You may bring food for your child or they can get a tray from the cafeteria. You may park in the front or back of Griffis and enter by the soccer fields. Please arrive early so that you have plenty of time to get settled in before your child’s lunch time. We are looking forward to seeing you!

If the weather does not permit, the lunch will not be rescheduled and will resume the next month.

The school report card (SRC) combines accountability ratings, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and financial information to give a broad view of campus performance. Available for each campus in Texas, the SRC is intended specifically to inform parents and guardians about a school’s individual characteristics and academic performance. The SRC can be found on the district website under the heading About Us.

Each month, we will focus on a particular character trait. Mrs. Wygal will give daily announcements regarding that trait to help the students put it into action. At the end of the month, each teacher will pick a student from their class that they feel has best demonstrated that trait. Those students will be recognized as the Character Students of the Month. The trait for the month of April is Hope. Also, please see the monthly parent newsletter below.

Students not in the building by the 8:00 A.M. bell are considered tardy. Please refer to our campus handbook regarding our tardy policy. If your child is tardy, please do not drop your child off. For their safety, your child should be signed in. Please come to the front to sign them in.

New guidance from the United States Department of Agriculture allows all students to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost during the 2021 - 2022 school year.

With this announcement, CMISD will continue to process applications for the free breakfast and lunch program. This will ensure qualifying students will receive free lunch and breakfast during the first 30 days of the 2022 - 2023 school year. Applications will be sent home at the beginning of the school year and will also be available at each campus.

We want to show our appreciation for our WATCHDOGS that volunteered the month of September. Our students enjoy the time and high fives. Thank you for spending the day with us!
