Weekly Parent Update
April 4- April 8
Greetings Ory Parents!
Another beautiful weekend! A special thank you to everyone who attended the Community Forum. Your voice and support are greatly appreciated. We are only 10 school days from the opening of the LEAP TESTING WINDOW! Please be sure your scholar attends school each day on time.
The Oratorical Contest date has been rescheduled to May 4th from 6:00-8:00 PM. We will host the contest at New Wine Church which will allow for a more spacious environment and allow more audience members to attend.
As per the Magnet contract, scholars who have an average below 90% of CAM points will be placed on probation. Any scholar who has received 2 or more suspensions will lose their magnet seat status for the 2022-2023 school year; however, you may reapply for a magnet seat for the 2023-2024 school year. Parents whose scholars meet either of these circumstances will receive a letter on Wednesday, April 7, 2022 when report cards are distributed.
This upcoming weekend will be the spring performance entitled, "The Best Little Theatre in Town." . Please come out to support our scholars. See the Important Dates section below for dates and time.
As always, thank you for your continued support and with helping to continue our tradition of high expectations and excellence.

RELAXED DRESS CODE
The relaxed dress code was put in place for scholars who do not have uniforms as a result of Hurricane Ida. If your scholar has a uniform and has been coming to school in a uniform, he/she is required to continue to wear their uniform. Our administrative team will reach out to parents of scholars and compile a list of those scholars without a uniform. A memo of dress wear expectations will be sent home for those who do not have uniforms. We are seeing a decline in adhering to the uniform policy under the relaxed code. Please support our efforts in teaching our scholars to Dress for Success!

- Avoid late check-ins and early check-outs.
- Schedule appointments after school when possible.
- Please be sure your scholar reads for at least 20 minutes Monday-Thursday.
- Contact your scholar's teacher with any concerns.

UNIFORMS
As we begin to transition to our normal routines, we are requesting that our scholars who have their uniforms begin to wear them on a daily basis.
Scholars who are not in uniforms shall meet expectations for respectful dress and adhere to the dress down guidelines set by the district which include the following:
- Top - no crop tops, tank tops, profanity, spaghetti straps
- All shirts must be tucked at all times.
- Bottoms- no holes- shorts and skirts must be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee- no sagging pants- shirts tucked
