Principal's Message

Good Afternoon Alpine,

Everyone made it through the first three days of school. The kids looked excited to be back on campus and hanging out with their friends. The energy on campus was fantastic, and I am ecstatic to have all of our Dust Devils at school.


The staff of JMMS is united on the goal that we want students in school, and we want the site to remain open. We will overcome any obstacle to ensure students have the opportunity to be in class and learning.I am asking the community to give us a little grace as we figure out how to navigate these turbulent times.


Thank you, and I look forward to seeing everyone's smiling face tomorrow.

Chromebook Protection Plan

One of the best $25 investments you can make this school year is the AUSD Chromebook Protection Plan. If your child's Chromebook is damaged accidentally, we can get you a new one at no additional cost with this plan. The deadline to purchase the insurance is September 3. The cost to replace a broken Chromebook is $200.00. It is a good deal for 99% of middle school students. Click here for more information.

SDCOE Decision Tree

Use this link to navigate the decisions that schools must follow to remain open. Page one indicates the steps that schools must follow if an individual test positive for COVID or presents with symptoms. Page two lists the steps that the schools must follow to identify if any persons are identified as Close Contacts. Pages three and four list factors that may impact an individual's return to work and defines vocabulary so everyone is on the same page. With 400 students on campus, you can imagine the work and it is the main reason we want students inside with seating charts. We don't want to make mistakes.

Lunch Time Activities

Our middle school lunches are longer than any I have had as a working adult. Our middle schoolers often struggle with 45 minutes of free time without access to their phones. If you have extra sports equipment (soccer balls, footballs, basketballs...) or board games (Battleship, Apples to Apples...) please consider donating them so students have more to do at lunch than trying to use their phones in secret. Examples of items from our youth we cant accept (Lawn Darts, See Saws and Merry go Rounds). : )
