I attempt to answer three questions:

1. What is sex slavery?
   
2. How does pornography fuel sex slavery?
   
3. How should men feel about pornography?
   

Research continually demonstrates a clear link between sex trafficking and the production of pornography. Federal legislation has acknowledged this, participants in the production of pornography have confirmed this, and while exact figures are hard to pin down, one anti-trafficking center reports that at least a third of victims trafficked for sex are used in the production of pornography. Another study on the relationship between prostitution, pornography, and trafficking found that one half of nearly nine hundred prostitutes in nine different countries reported pornography being made of them while in prostitution

14% of boys and 9% of girls were exposed to pornography before 13.
83% of boys and 57% of girls have seen group sex online.
69% of boys and 55% of girls have seen same-sex intercourse online.
39% of boys and 23% of girls have seen sexual bondage online.
32% of boys and 18% of girls have seen bestiality online.
18% of boys and 10% of girls have seen rape or sexual violence online.
15% of boys and 9% of girls have seen child pornography.
81% of teens look at porn online at home.
75% said their parents had never discussed Internet pornography with them.

“Interviews with 854 women in prostitution in 9 countries…made it clear that pornography is integral to prostitution… [A]lmost half (49 percent) told us that pornography was made of them while they were in prostitution. Forty-seven percent…were upset by tricks’ attempts to make them do what the tricks had previously seen in pornography.”

One potential effect of frequent porn use is reduced or even nonexistent interest in sexual, physical and emotional connections with real-world sexual partners. This is much more prevalent than most people realize, with the phenomenon increasing by the day. Consider the results of two large-scale Japanese studies, one conducted in 2008 and the other in 2010. The studies found that in 2010, 36.1% of males ages 16 to 19 had no interest in, or an outright aversion to, sex with another person. This figure was more than double that of the 2008 survey (17.5%). For men 20 to 24, the percentage increase was up from 11.8% in 2008 to 21.5% in 2010. Some respondents said that sex with another person was “a bother,” others said they preferred girls as anime (animated) characters, and many admitted that frequent masturbation satisfied their sexual needs as well as or better than in-person encounters.
