Mill Valley Weekly

Thanks to everyone who participated in our first all-school assembly of the year. Our visit from Bucky Badger and the MHS drumline was a hit! Students and staff enjoyed the up-close and personal connections Bucky made. He even got to meet Warrior Wolf, our Mill Valley mascot!

This year, an area of focus will be centered around the question, "Do I feel safe on the bus?". Mill Valley partners with Dairyland bus company and if your child is having any issues on the bus, please feel free to reach out to us. We can help problem solve or point you in the right direction for assistance. Our plan is to have bus ambassadors (staff members) who will hop on a bus to check on bus behavior weekly. We are hoping that these new relationships will serve as a preventative measure, as opposed to a reactive one. We will be recognizing positive bus behavior as well as continuing to monitor bus referrals.

Thinking Students...Changing the World!

Does your child complain of a stomach ache right before going to school? If your child stays home, do the symptoms vanish, only to reappear the next morning? Does your child have a tantrum when you try to make your child go to school? Here’s an article from Psychology Today with some helpful suggestions on what you can do when your child doesn’t want to go to school.

Picture retake day is Wednesday, October 5th.

If your child has not had a picture taken already, it will be taken then. Ordering information will be given out at the time of pictures.

If a picture was already taken, but a retake is needed, please let your teacher know so your child can be sent for pictures.

• Please return the original picture package to the photographer at the time of pictures.
  
• The same package will be ordered with the new image.
  
• New packages will not be received unless the original package is returned.
