Raising "Monster Money" for our Art Department
The Monster Art Show is our largest fund raiser for the Visual Art Department each year. Each of the accompanying high school students’ artworks are available for purchase for a minimum donation of $25 each for families who would like to own the original, one-of-a-kind, over-the-top, truly too cool artworks that go with the 3rd grade images. The monies raised each year from the sale of the high school monster artworks goes directly to the visual art department’s budget—for art supplies, art equipment, art field trips, and more!
**Please contact andrea.ervin@fwafa.org to purchase an artwork**
Deadline to Purchase Artwork:
The Monster Art Show high school artworks will be available exclusively to our 3rd grade families for purchase until Monday, November 9th at midnight. At that time, we will open the sales of the accompanying high school work to our high school families to purchase the pieces for their students.

Payment must be received by Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
Each exam is scheduled to be given at a specific date and time. Consequently, your student must be in attendance that day to participate. There are no make-ups and no refunds available.
Cafeteria and Lunch Procedures
The Cafeteria is now open for hot lunches. The menu is available on the FWAFA website. Prices are as follows:
Grades 3-6 - $3.00; Grades 7-12 - $3.50
To access your student's lunch account or to put money on the account, please use the following steps:
1. Before you begin, you will need your student’s lunch number which is a 4 digit number. It is NOT the school ID number. If you do not have this information, please contact our Child Nutrition Manager at cheryl.demeyere@fwafa.org
2. Go to the FWAFA website and click on Resources. Click on Cafeteria and then Lunch Account.
3. You will enter your student’s last name and the 4 digit lunch number.
4. Then click on Pre-Pay. It will take you to Rev-Trak where you can add money or setup a new account.
If you get an error on Rev Trak, please contact Ms. DeMeyere at the email listed above.
You may also go to mymealmoney.com and enter Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts.
The balance on My Meal Money is the correct balance. The Rev Trak balance is not correct for at least 48 hours.
Information from Rev Trak is imported every morning, so it takes usually 24 hours to show in the cafeteria.
If anyone has a problem with the lunch account, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. DeMeyere at cheryl.demeyere@fwafa.org or 817 924-1482 x119.
Thankful Loaves Tradition Continues
A Message On Behalf of Our PTSO Staff Appreciation Committee
A tradition here at FWAFA is a little thing we call "Thankful Loaves." As a Thanksgiving Treat, we are offering to bake loaves of bread for our amazing staff. What better way to tell our teachers and staff how thankful we are for them, than by making homemade bread!
So, we need your help! Please sign up below to bake a loaf (or more) of bread to donate.
We need pumpkin and banana bread (Full Size Loaves).

S-P-E-L-L-I-N-G Bee! Dates Announced!
We are preparing to host the FWAFA Spelling Bee, and it has to look a good deal different than it ever has before. We want to do everything we can to keep your students safe as we encourage and celebrate their achievement.
The study materials have been posted to JupiterEd under the School Office tab. If you need help locating them, please feel free to contact our English department chair Mrs. Cook at leslie.cook@fwafa.org.
For students who have chosen in-person learning, English teachers will be conducting classroom bees on November 5th and/or 6th.
For students who have chosen at-home learning, we are asking that you complete the registration form attached and meet us at the school on Saturday, November 7th at 9:00 AM. We will conduct a written test in the cafeteria or in several classrooms to allow for social distancing.
If your student qualifies for the school spelling bee, they will compete first in an oral round in the auditorium against other qualifiers in their grade. This will allow us to social distance and make space for family members to attend and social distance. These dates are:
Monday, November 16th: 6th grade at 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, November 18th: 3rd grade at 12:30 p.m. and 4th grade at 1:15 p.m.
Friday, November 20th: 7th grade at 10:30 a.m., 8th grade at 11:30 a.m., and 5th grade at 12:30 p.m.
Spelling Bee participants are allowed to invite up to 4 family members. Families are required to wear a mask at all times and follow all TCAA Back-To-School Health Guidelines.
Then there will be a second school bee round where the winners at each grade level will compete against one another. With only six students competing across grade levels, we will again be able to social distance and welcome families who would like to watch. Stay tuned for the announcement of that date.
