SPARTAN SCOOP

As the school year gets started, there is a lot of information coming at us. In order to make sure no one misses anything, there will be a lot of repetition in the Spartan Scoop with the hope that everyone will have access to what they need. I will highlight what is new in each newsletter in the section below, but will keep important information from previous newsletters. Each week we will add more and more parents, so I want to make sure we all have access. Thank you!

Families and students, the are NEW TO PHM, are welcome on Monday Aug 14th, from 3:00pm-4:00pm, so that our school counselors can share general information. In addition to general information, school counselors will share information about our learning management system , Canvas, and our student information system, Skyward. There will also be time to walk around the budling and get to know your way around hope to see you there!

We are thrilled to offer an opportunity for our students and families to visit Schmucker before the first day of school! On Thursday, August 10th, our building will be open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During this time families can walk around the building so students can identify the location of their classes and lockers. We will have NJHS students to help you find your classes and your lockers. We will also have the PTO members here to sell PE shirts for $10 CASH ONLY. There will also be a spirit wear pre-order form and information on how to get involved with the PTO. Please note that classrooms will not be open and teachers will not be present during the walk around. We are looking forward to visiting with you on August 10th!

Knowing there is dialog around the state about the Indiana Academic Standards, we continue to follow the direction of the Indiana Department of Education and Dr. Jenner as provided in this letter. If you have any concerns about your child's education, please work with your child's teacher for clarification or reach out to me at anytime!
