TeSA Families,

Our TeSA PTO has two awesome opportunities to give this week. Dance-A-Thon is a great fundraiser in which our students get to have a lot of fun raising money for TeSA. If you haven't started, you're not too late! Look for an email from 99 Pledges with your info. If you don't see it, email asiambyrd@gmail.com. You can also click HERE to find a participant and make a donation.

We celebrated our first two incentive achievements on Friday to kick off Field Day. The 6th grade students covered Ms. Young in silly string and Ms. Wilson had her hair dyed. We are ready for our next crazy adventures as the donations keep rolling in! Post on the TeSA PTO Facebook page to start guessing my surprises. They're both pretty exciting!

PTO is also recommending sweet treats for our teachers in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. Everything is completely optional, but we hope you'll at least take the opportunity to say "thank you."

As our neighboring land has been cleared over the last couple of weeks, we've noticed an increase of insects and animals around our TeSA property, including several ticks. We are working with an extermination company to remove any current critters from our playground and surrounding area, and prevent them from coming back. If students find a tick on themselves during school hours, they will be asked to visit Nurse Edna and she will immediately contact their parents. If you find a tick at home, the CDC website provides great information on how to remove it and treat the area. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nurse Edna at edna.robinson@mytesa.org.

It is the last month of school and many lunch accounts are running low. Unfortunately, our system emails from Revtrak tend to go to junk/clutter mail. Please check there for emails regarding your child's account. If you have any questions, contact our Kitchen Manager, Ms. Denise Thomas at denise.thomas@mytesa.org.

PTO previously fundraised and purchased soccer goals for our TeSA playground. Now, we need help getting them installed. If you can donate your time for a couple of hours after school or on a weekend to help cement the goals in place, email broadwaysteph13@aol.com.

Each week, we celebrate someone going above and beyond. This week, we honor Kindergarten Teacher, Mrs. Katie Lemons.

Mrs. Lemons has gone above and beyond in her very first year at TeSA to make my child genuinely love going to school each day. Her comforting demeanor with my daughter makes me feel as if she has a second mother at school. Her care and concern is especially appreciated during this pandemic, which has caused quite a lot of stress in even the youngest students due to the uncertainty. TeSA is lucky to have Mrs. Lemons!
