ABCD Award Nomination

Does your child have a teacher that goes Above and Beyond the Call of Duty that you would like to nominate for the ABCS Award? Is there a staff member at BES that your child feels goes out of his/her way to be kind or do things to support our school? If so, please click here to nominate a staff member for the ABCD Award. Nominations are due by the 10th of the month.

SC Ready State Testing in Here!!!

As hard as it is to believe, May is here and the end of the school year is close. Next Thursday, we will begin state testing. It is very important that students are present and on time the day of testing. If they are absent or late, they will have to make up the test at another time and most likely be tested by someone other than their normal teacher. Students tend to do better when they can test with their peers and their own teacher.

Testing Dates are:

May 4 - SC Ready (Reading)

May 9 - SC Ready (Language and Writing)

May 16 - SC Ready (Mathematics)

May 18 - SC Ready (Science - 4th Grade Only)

The following are things you can do to help ensure your child does his/her best:

1 - Make every effort to have your child present and on time on each of these dates.

2 - Be sure your child gets a good night's rest the night before each test.

3 - Feed them a good breakfast on the morning of testing.

4 - Make every effort to keep their morning as calm as possible. They have grown a ton this year and are ready to do amazing on these tests.

5 - Remind them of the following:

Read everything more than once.
Work out your math problems on paper and use scratch paper to take notes etc.
Take your time. The test is not timed so there is no need to rush.
Do everything you know for sure first and then go back and work on problems that give them a little more trouble.

May 18 - SC Ready Science (4th grade only)

May 23 - 4th Grade Field Day

May 24 - 5th Grade Field Day

May 29 - Holiday/School Closed

May 30 - Awards Day

It's Been a Great Week at BES!!

Good Afternoon,

How is it already May? This year has flown by so quickly. We are so excited about how much our kids have learned and grown this year. Thank you so much for all you do everyday to support our kids and our school. Have a great weekend!
