Muskego Lakes Family Newsletter
June 2nd, 2023
Dear Muskego Lakes Families,
We can hardly believe it, but the end of the school year is already upon us! As we approach the last week of the school year, we want to encourage our students to finish strong and make the most of these final days. Next week marks the last week of the school year and promises to be a time of reflection and celebration. It's a time we are looking forward to being able to pause to acknowledge our students' hard work, growth, and achievements all while creating lasting memories with one another before we depart for the summer.
However, we also recognize that this time of year can evoke mixed emotions for our students. Saying goodbye to friends, teachers, and routines can evoke many feelings. Some students may feel a sense of joy and anticipation for the adventures that lie ahead, while others might experience nostalgia or a tinge of sadness at the thought of parting ways with familiar faces and the comforting routines of the school year. It can be bittersweet to say goodbye to friends, teachers, and routines that have become familiar over the past months.
Please assure your child that these feelings are normal and that feeling a mixture of emotions is okay. This transition also offers an opportunity for personal growth, new beginnings, and exciting adventures. If your child is struggling, we are here to help as well. Please feel free to reach out to us or our student services team if you feel your child would benefit from a check-in.
We can't wait to make the most of our final days with our students next week!
In partnership,
Rachel and Nancy

Yearbook Signing Expectations
Next week Thursday, students that ordered yearbooks will receive them in their first-hour class. We know how much time our yearbook club has put into making this product and how much our students treasure them. We are reviewing expectations for yearbook signing with students next week, but we ask that you remind your child of the expectations listed below.
Students need to...
- Put their first and last name on the inside cover of your book immediately after they receive it.
- Write positive, appropriate messages and drawings only.
- Not write on or draw over photos.
- Be mindful of how much space is being used. Individuals should not take up an entire page for their name or message. Leave enough room for others.
- Only write a message about you and the yearbook owner (leave others' names out of it).
- Be aware of and know who is signing their yearbook. Students should not let anyone sign their yearbook if they don't know them. Also, owners should stay with their yearbook the entire time.
- Read all messages others write before walking away.
- Report a problem to an adult if anything is written that is inappropriate. Students are responsible for what is in their yearbook, so students must let someone know right away if there is anything written or drawn that should not be there.
Locker Clean Out
All students will clean out their lockers next week. To avoid having a lot to bring home all at once, encourage your child to bring home any extra coats, sweatshirts, shoes, etc. on Monday, June 5th. In addition, sending your child with an extra plastic bag to carry these items is helpful for those riding the bus.
Last Day of School Reminders
The last day of school is a half day. 8th grade students should report to their homeroom teacher at the start of the day. 5-7th grade students should report to their first hour class.
All students will be released at 12:00pm. Buses will leave school around 12:10pm. Since it's an early dismissal, there is no lunch served.
Missing Something? Check out the Lost and Found!
We have quite the collection of items in our lost and found that are looking for their owners! Please encourage your child if they are missing sweatshirts, jackets, water bottles, pencil cases, hats, headbands, etc. to stop by student services to check for their missing items. Any items remaining on June 8th will be donated.
