We had a very spiritual week at Holy Cross. Fr. Oswaldo and Fr. Raymond lead our 3rd through 8th-grade students in Reconciliation services, our 8th-grade class received the beautiful sacrament of Confirmation and we rounded off the week with our 5th Grade Class leading Stations of the Cross. What a beautiful week celebrating our faith! We are so grateful to pray together in a school community.

It is always this time of year that I am reminded of the many blessings of Holy Cross. As I was sitting with the staff last night at the Confirmation Mass, I realized how this community has become my family. My heart was filled with so much pride and joy as I watched our 8th-grade students being anointed by Archbishop Naumann. Wasn't it I fought back the tears as so many memories rushed through my mind. It is hard to believe that these students have been such a large part of my life for the past nine years. It feels like they were in Kindergarten just a few years ago. I have learned so much from these students and their families. Another moment of gratitude that so many share their children with us each and every day. Holy Cross is truly a special place.

Embrace

GREAT NEWS! We were awarded a $38,000 grant from EMBRACE that will be used over the next three years for student support. EMBRACE will present a BIG check to our school next Friday, March 31st to our school as we participate in Blue and Green out of uniform day celebrating Embrace's Difference Day.

Difference Day has three goals for this day:

#1 - To raise awareness of EMBRACE and what we do.

#2 - To encourage students to EMBRACE all our differences and remind them that we are ALL made in the image of God.

#3 - To raise a little bit of money.

State Assessments- April 17-20

Every child in grades 3-12 in the state of Kansas takes the state assessments called the Kansas Assessment Program (KAP) in the subject areas of math and reading. Our 5th and 8th-grade students will take a science assessment and 4th and 8th grade will take a social studies assessment. We have been working hard all year to ensure our students are prepared and confident going into this week, but we need your help.

1. Please do not plan ANY appointments this week and make every effort to be at school and on time.

2. Make sure your child gets a good night sleep.

3. Have your child eat a healthy breakfast each day
