News from Dr. E
Happy October!
We will be finishing first quarter soon. We are in the sweet spot of learning! I would encourage you to continue setting routines and having time to share about your child's day. One of the best things you can do as a family is to read together. If you read together five minutes a day, that would be 1,825 minutes a year.
Parent Teacher Conferences are coming soon. We will be sharing positives, assessments, progress, and potentially areas of growth. One of the best strategies is to have a conference with your student prior to conferences. Here is some great conversation starters:
- What is going well?
- What do you notice different about learning this year?
- Will there be any surprises?
- What are your goals?
- How can I support you this year when you are home?
We will be having shorter conferences due to only having two evenings. Don't worry - we are available to you. I would ask that you keep in mind that once teachers leave school, they probably won't be looking at Class DoJo or email. You can expect a response the next day. We want our teachers to be able to have boundaries and be with their families at night.
If you have positives, suggestions, or questions please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or me.
Educationally,
Dr. Tami Eshleman
