ACEE Awards Teacher Grants
The ACEE Foundation awarded six teacher grants during their fall grant cycle totaling $4,979. Grant recipients are:

Roller Coasters in Mrs. Purdom's Science Class
Middle School students used their knowledge of forces and energy to create "roller coasters".
Students had to build a "roller coaster" that a marble could successfully travel through.
Chemistry Flame Lab
The Chemistry students participated in a flame test lab! Students learned about ground state and what happens when electrons gain energy.
Middle School LEGO Robotics Team Tour Kerry Dam
Friday, October 21 the members of the Lego robotics teams took a tour of the Kerr Dam and Control Center. The information they gained from the educational tour will help them as they set out to design a solution to a real-world problem with power. Thank you to Jeff Wells and Derek Stafford for investing in the education of our students..

BHE Book Fair October 31 - November 4th
Our elementary book fair will be held Monday, October 31st through Friday, November 4th. It will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Bernita Hughes Elementary Library. Please plan to attend our fall book fair! All proceeds will be used to buy new materials for our students and staff.
