Spanish track teachers visit International Charter School of Atlanta
GLOBE's DLI Spanish track teachers had the opportunity to visit International Charter School of Atlanta's Spanish classrooms. During the visit, our teachers were able to observe instruction in the classroom, speak with other Spanish DLI teachers and share their common experiences in teaching and planning within a dual language immersion model.
Professional learning tours are a way GLOBE helps provide professional development for immersion teachers as part of our commitment to our program growth and improvement.
We are thankful to partner schools like International Charter School of Atlanta and Franklin Elementary (Los Angeles, California) for welcoming GLOBE teachers and the Director of Language Program into their classrooms and buildings. We cherish these partnerships and appreciate the opportunity to observe other DLI learning environments.

GLOBE renews its membership of worldwide network
The GLOBE Academy has officially renewed its membership of the worldwide network of LabelFrancÉducation schools for grades 1–5. The accreditation recognizes French dual language and immersion schools from across the world that have distinguished themselves by the high quality of their immersion program. This is an extremely high honor, and we thank you all for being part of the community that helped us reach and maintain this goal. GLOBE has been a member of the LabelFrancÉducation since the year 2019.
Contribute a poster for AANHPI Heritage Month!
The month of May is AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander) Heritage Month. A fun way to learn about AANHPI figures, contributions, and events.
The AANHPI organizers, Meeta Dama and Mila Konomos, are putting together a "ABCs of AANHPIs Halls of Fame'. Just like last year, families will be able to sign up to contribute a poster to display in the hallways of LC and UC.
Click here for information and to sign up. Posters are due by Wednesday, April 26.
4th grade students represent GLOBE in spoken language competition
Last weekend, students from Mme. Lindow's (French) class and Markowitz Laoshi (Mandarin) class competed in the 2023 Foreign Language Association of Georgia Elementary Spoken Language Elementary Contest. The contest evaluates students on their ability to communicate in the target language. This wonderful contest encourages young children to continue their world language studies. We are so proud of our GLOBE students and teachers!

Morning Arrival
A friendly reminder that students are tardy right at 8:10am. In an effort to maintain as many instructional minutes as possible in our school day, we are going to tighten up/strictly enforce our tardy policy. Beginning this Friday, the administrator on ‘crosswalk duty’ each week will place a magnetic yellow flag on the last car already in the parking lot exactly at 8:10am. That flag will indicate the last car that staff will unload. Any car behind that vehicle will need to park and report to the front office inside LC to sign their child(ren) in as being tardy. We appreciate your partnership as we strive to begin our school day on time.
2023 K–8 State Team Chess Championship
Two GLOBE teams competed in the Georgia Chess Association State Team Championship this past weekend and battled top teams from schools in Fulton, Cobb, Forsyth, DeKalb and other counties. The annual GCA sponsored event is open to school teams that have qualified through the GCA Scholastic Team Qualifier and teams traveling from outside the Atlanta metro area.
Our GLOBE teams played hard and we are extremely proud of them. Congratulations to K–1 team members Oakley Wang, Alan Pattillo, Dhilan Adhyaru, Asher Rouillier, and Khaya Richards, and K–3 team members Sebastian Bianchi, Amir Baraki, Albert Li, Liam Fox, Deacon Lamphier and Connor McKeown. Go GLOBE!
LC Field Day Volunteers
Field Day for grades K–3 is on May 4. While all of our volunteer slots are filled, parents are still welcome to come and cheer on students as they participate in the most exciting day of the year!

Ms. Ye’s Mandarin class finished their Chinese Gourmet Food project. They wrote a food recipe and created a video on Canva. Some of the students did live cooking lessons in the classroom.
Students also added the final touches to their Chinese traditional residential project where they researched the Chinese traditional architecture in a certain region in China, while presenting it with a Canva video, and creating a 3D model.
