1. Current 6th grade parents - below you will see a link to a newsletter JUST about the 7th grade elective opportunities we offer. We will be talking about course registration at our upcoming parent-teacher-student conferences. I will leave this link in for most of this semester and will update it as dates become available, so please check it periodically.
2. Spring picture day is this Friday!

Do you ever ask your child about his/her day and you get a shoulder shrug? or "it was fine"? If this is the case, use these questions to ask your child about school - let's get them talking!

Acc. Math 7 - What was your biggest take away from the percentages project?

Science 7 - Explain how matter flows through an ecosystem

Science 6 - Describe how the process of photosynthesis helps plants survive.

Social Studies 6 - What are the 2 most practiced religions in the world & what makes them a monotheistic religion?

Social Studies 7 -What is the most important amendment in the Bill of Rights and why?

Health 6 -What are some of the physical, mental, social or legal consequences of Vaping?

Math 6 - What is the difference between a dot plot and a histogram? What are some of the benefits of each?

Math 7 - When do you switch your inequality symbol?

Language Lab 7 - What song did you choose to analyze this week in Language Lab? Were the lyrics mostly in active or passive voice and how did that contribute to the overall mood and message of the song?

ELA 6 - Define ethos, pathos, and logos.

ELA 7 - What 4 questions do we ask when analyzing an argument?

Careers - Can you explain the difference between a credit card and a debit card?

Choice Summer School is open to all Springdale School students, typically current 8th-11th graders. However, Careers is offered to current 7th graders.

All courses are original credit courses. Credit Recovery courses are not offered through this program.

Courses being offered: Careers (incoming 8th graders only), PE, Health, Civics, Economics, Oral Communication, and Computer Science (full year). Any other course would be by approval only.

--Summer School applications are available February 5 - May 22.
--VIRTUAL (online) orientation info will be emailed to student and guardian on June 3 by 4:00 p.m. Orientation Zooms will be held June 4, 2024. Tuition must be paid IN FULL on or before May 29, 2024 to receive orientation link and course access - online, check or cash.

--Course(s) must be completed no later than 3:00 p.m. on July 3, 2024. No exceptions.
--The expected time to complete each course is approximately 60 hours. All courses are delivered online/fully virtually.
--There will be no drops or refunds after June 10.

--Final Grades for paid and completed courses will be available by July 17, 2024.

PTO met this past Tuesday. We are planning a Hero Hangout for March 15th. More info will be coming!
