January Culture Celebration
Continuing our monthly series, we will be celebrating both Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Holocaust Remembrance Month this January. Students are encouraged to participate in this month’s celebration by writing an essay, creating a slideshow, or submitting an original piece of artwork that expresses why that month’s celebration has meaning to them.
Principal Roser will host a pizza party for all participants at the end of the month where students get to share their essays and artwork with one another.
If you would like some research ideas for this month's celebration, please check out the RMS January Celebration slide deck.
Please upload your essay, slide show or original piece of artwork (with Title and description) to this form no later than Thursday, Jan. 25th, 2024. The pizza party will be Monday, January 29th, 2024. You will receive an invitation to attend from the RMS library.

Humble ISD TSI2 Assessment for Dual Credit Courses
Humble ISD will be hosting opportunities to take the Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) at different campuses across the district at no charge. These opportunities are being offered as a convenience to families of students who will be taking college-level classes now or in the future.
All 8th graders interested in exploring Dual Credit courses including the Dual Credit Summer Academy should take the TSIA2. The TSIA2 has 2 domains: English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. 8th grade students are encouraged to focus their practice on the TSIA2 ELAR since the math component covers material through Algebra II.
Students take TSIA2 tests on a computer and results are provided immediately upon completion of the exam. Practice tests can be accessed at this link. For more information, you can visit the College Board website.
If you have questions, please contact Dr. Tong Utakrit, Humble ISD Director of Advanced Learning and Services, at tong.utakrit@humbleisd.net.
RMS CCMR Checklist
At Riverwood, we believe that every student is unique and that requires us to serve each one differently. To do so, we must invest time into each child and learn what their unique strengths and challenges are, as well as their unique interests. To ensure we do this, we have developed a personalized approach to counseling.
We have officially started our personal counseling meetings. In these meetings, we will discuss the goals your child sets for themselves and plan for their academic adventures, while meeting their social and emotional needs.
