Dear WES Families,

WOW! Thank you to our PTO and parent volunteers for all of the wonderful recognition for our staff this teacher appreciation week. Teachers were delighted by the baked goods in the staff lounge as well as the special signage out front and the very special luncheon prepared by Sefton Stallard. It was a special week at WES for sure!!!

Thank you to Ms. Porcello and Mr. McDonough for a very successful bike week in PE class last week. It was wonderful to see the students out there on bikes pushing themselves to gain skills and confidence! (pictures below)

This past week, Mrs. Klocek had a group of 4th graders collaborate with Mrs. Fountain's 9th grade students to complete some Green Up Activities on the WES campus and at Vail Field. We love collaborating with our high school friends on stewardship projects.

As we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, searches are underway for the following positions. I am hoping for a parent volunteer to serve on the hiring committee for each classroom teaching position. Please let me know if you are interested and available:

• Kindergarten Teacher (Mrs. Hull not returning from leave)
• 3rd Grade Teacher (Mr. Cassarino relocating)
• 4th Grade Teacher (Ms. Brooks relocating)
• Office Administrative Assistant (Mr. Miles is retiring at the end of the school year)
• PreK classroom teacher (1)- we are excited to expand our PreK program due to the growing demand for PreK in our district.
  
• PreK classroom assistants (new positions to support increased PreK enrollment)

Summer SOAK registration is now open! Registration for some courses fills up quickly

so please register as quickly as possible. Please read the following information carefully for assistance with navigating the new and improved process. Summer SOAK 2022 Dates are July 5th through July 29th with programming Tuesday through Friday, 8:30-3:30. Registration is $50 a week.

All forms, participation and medical, are online this year. No doctor's signature required. We strongly encourage you to use a computer to complete your registration process. If you use a phone you may lose your progress if you refresh the page.

The Configuration and Enrollment Working Group of the Windsor Central Supervisory Union has been working on surveying the WCSU communities about changing the name of the district. We would like everyone in those communities, including current and alumni students, to give us feedback and ideas. Please use this survey to send us your thoughts!
