Elipsis Seminar

The Ellipsis is used when an author quotes material from another source, and wishes to omit something from the writing. It can also be used to create suspense in some writing.

The Ellipsis is basically just three evenly spaced dots used to omit things from a passage of writing.

You want an example? Here you go. Example:

The ceremony honored twelve brilliant athletes from the Caribbean who were visiting the U.S.

Could be shortened to

The ceremony honored twelve brilliant athletes ... visiting the U.S.
