1st Edition - 2018
ATP Leadership Team
Hello Associates!
Hope your 2018 has started off well. Last year we welcomed a record number of Associates to Capco and we are looking to do the same again! Our first intake of the year is almost half-way through their training now, so please get ready to welcome them into the Cacpo Associate community very soon. Performance roundtables are just finishing up so it’s a good time to firm up your 2018 objectives if you haven’t already, something I need to think about too!
As always, I’m really keen to hear your feedback – especially on areas where the ATP Leadership team and community can improve. If you have any thoughts, please speak to your AO Account reps or send them directly to me. As the community grows it would be great to inject new ideas to help keep people connected and engaged so if you think there is something else we can be doing then please let me know.
Cheers,
welcome to all the new associates who joined in january!

Career insights
career q&a
Also new to Capco, Senol Mehmet joined as Associate Partner for Banking & Payments towards the end of last year. We quizzed him about his career so far.
So Senol, what did you do before you joined Capco?
"I was a Vice President at Capgemini and the HSBC Global Account Lead for Consulting, I was also the lead for the UK Innovations Practice. Before then I was with Accenture for a considerable length of time on a number of large scale integration, M&A and transformations across Retail Banks."
What was it that caught your eye about Capco?
"Capco’s growth ambition really resonated with me and I wanted to be a part of this journey. In addition, the opportunity to help shape and grow the Retail Banking business is really exciting, our brand has great market presence and I’m confident we will make great progress in the retail banking sector too."
How has your experience here been so far?
"On the whole, very positive with a few things that stand out: warm welcome into Capco across all levels which has helped me integrate into the organisation; everyone is super keen to get involved and help, be it with opportunities / RFPs or sharing project knowledge; also, the autonomy to be entrepreneurial is helping shape and grow our Retail Banking business."
And finally, what advice would you give to Associates just starting out in their careers?
"When we are supporting our clients through their challenging journeys, be quick to learn how your individual contribution is making a difference; regardless of the roles we perform, we earn trust and respect. This helps us build our long lasting relationships both internally and externally with our clients. Above all, make the best of the opportunities that come your way and enjoy what you do."
associate experience
“Hi, I’m Dom and I work on the TPICAP account. The work being carried out by the 30-strong Capco team here can be broadly split into two areas: Technology Integration and MiFID II. I am fortunate enough to have worked across both since joining the account. Following the merger of Tullett Prebon and ICAP in 2016 to form TPICAP, now the world’s largest interdealer broker, Capco have been helping them manage the complex task of integrating the vast number of IT systems in a way that gains improvements in efficiency but has a minimal effect on the broker’s clients.
I was initially working in the Integration Planning Authority. However, with the deadline for MiFID II fast approaching, focus across TPICAP turned to ensuring all preparations were in place for when the regulation kicked in on 3rd January 2018 and beyond. As such, I have just started a new role within the MiFID II PMO where we are supporting the governance of a cross-business Programme spanning technology, operations, legal and compliance.
The TPICAP account is a fast paced and ever-changing place to work so I am always being presented with new challenges that keep me on my toes."

spotlight on: agile training
Darren Faraway is a Principal Consultant as Capco. He runs a full-day Agile 101 training course.
What is this course all about?
“This Capco-focused introductory Agile course will give you a good understanding of Agile concepts with a particular detailed focus on the primary Agile framework of Scrum.”
How could Associates benefit from the training?
“In my view Agile is the future of delivering change, regardless of the subject or size, it provides a method of delivery in tune with today’s demands, time to market and flexibility with a focus on enjoyment and repeated success. Everyone in Capco should be a part of that and certainly at the start of your career to grow with Agile in your arsenal. Plus, it would be plain daft to ignore it, the least you can do is understand it but once you do, beware - it will change the way you do business.”

The next Agile training is to be held on 13th Feb, so visit to the Skillport to enroll now! If you have any questions or want any further detail on Agile or the training course, contact Darren on Darren.faraway@capco.com or +447712242951.
