LHS Update #5

The 2022 LHS Homecoming week has come and gone. I wanted to take a moment to thank those that spent a great deal of time planning, organizing, and conducting all our Homecoming Week activities: Student Council Advisor: Robyn Durant and the LHS Student Council, Senior Class Advisors Tonya Arnour and Becky Shouse, all of the powderpuff coaches, dance chaperones, and everyone else that made our 2022 Homecoming a success. Please enjoy a few pictures of the events included below.

We are pleased to announce Michelle Horning, as a counselor to LHS. Mrs. Horning will begin at LHS on October 3, 2022.

For the 2022-2023 school year, LHS has partnered with Laura Lemke to provide services to our Co-Op & WBL students. Mrs. Lemke will be at LHS every Monday from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm & every Thursday from 9:30 am-11:00 am. She can also be contacted by phone at 810-591-0447. or email at llemke@lindenschools.org

Linden Virtual Students and online students should follow the due dates established in their online classes. The schedule identified below, provides additional guidance as to where student's progress should be throughout the semester:

• 9/23/2022 (¼ through the semester) 25%
• 10/21/2022 (½ through the semester) 50%
• 11/22/2022 (Thanksgiving Break) 66%
• 12/9/2022 (¾ through the semester) 75%
• 12/22/2022 (Christmas Break) 92%
• 1/13/2023 (End of Semester) 100%

Please join Linden Robotics again this year in this humbling fundraiser & service project. The deadline to sponsor a wreath is November 27th.

Each $15 raised will sponsor one wreath to be placed on a headstone at Great Lakes National Cemetery.

Last year Linden Robotics helped by sponsoring 330 wreaths, with 118 being grave-specific. This year their goal is 400 wreaths.

With each $15 wreath sponsorship, a wreath will be placed on a veteran's grave at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly on December 17, 2021.

A portion of each wreath sponsored is placed in the annual Linden Robotics scholarship fund, which awards scholarships to seniors interested in a STEM-related field.

Kyle Eberhard and Hannah Wasilewski have not only won the nomination from the Flint Metro League, but won the overall Kiwanis Greater Flint Area Athlete of the Month. With this comes a nomination to possibly win the Athlete of the Year in the Greater Flint Area, which is awarded in the spring.
