Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
November 10, 2023
Andrea Conner, BHS Principal
Hello Bulldog Families.
Today, Batavia High School would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces. It is with sincere humility that we recognize that without the sacrifice of these individuals, we would not have the freedom to support our young people as they continue throughout their educational journey. To recognize this Holiday, at the beginning of each class period, information about Veterans Day and its origin was shared via the PA. In social studies classes, our teachers covered additional topics surrounding Veterans Day and its importance to our country and our freedoms.
This week, we were notified that Batavia High School received the “bronze” level award on the AP Honor Roll. This is certainly an honor as we are one of only two Clermont County high schools on the list. Please reference this link to preview all the schools in Ohio that received these honors: AP Honor Roll-Ohio Schools
This award recognizes that at least 45% of our students in the Class of 2023 took advantage of taking at least one AP course during their high school years. In addition, 27% earned a high enough score on at least one of the AP tests to earn college credit, and 15% of those students took an AP class either as a freshmen or a sophomore. This is certainly worth celebrating for our students, our school, and our teachers who have worked hard to make sure these students are ready for these money-saving opportunities for college credit.
Take a little time to review information below about picture retake day on Wednesday. This will be for students in grades 9-12.
Have a great weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.
