My Kid Would Never Do That: Sexting & Shaming

It will also discuss sexual cyberbullying (shaming) and the impact on victims. Social and legal consequences will be discussed. 1 hour session.
For all student presentations we request that a school counselor or SRO be available the day of the presentation to assist students in the event of a disclosure or concern. As a mandated reporter I will work with staff to file hotlines and Cybertips when necessary.
What areas do you cover?
MO ICAC allows me to provide presentations statewide. Is there a cost for presentations?
No. This program is funded through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the PROTECT Act.
What AV equipment is needed?
If a laptop, projector, screen or smartboard and Internet access is available I can pull down a presentation in five minutes and get started! For larger crowds a microphone would be appreciated. If you don't have this equipment, don't worry, I can bring my own. If you don't have Internet access in your venue please let me know and I can put together a PowerPoint presentation for you.
Can we schedule multiple presentations in one day?
Yes. In fact, to reduce travel costs to our grant I prefer to schedule students, parents and staff in the same day. Student groups should be no larger than 400. I prefer to work with your entire district in the same time frame to ensure that students, educators and parents are getting the same information at the same time - even if that means I have to stay in the area for multiple days.
Will there be time for questions?
Yes. For student presentations I am generally in the area all day for follow-up, and I am always available by phone. For adult presentations I allow 30 additional minutes for questions.
