Good Morning Parents/Guardians,

Monday, January 16, 2032, is a holiday, Martin Luther King Day - No classes on this date. School resumes on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at regular hours. Please talk to your student about being on time for all five periods. We need our students in their seats to start learning on time.

The Grade Reports will go home this Friday, January 20, 2023. Please take time to review and celebrate big and small accomplishments. Thank you for encouraging and supporting your students to continue achieving daily reading, assignments and projects. Your child has the potential to achieve high with devotion and effort.

Parents and guardians, if you need to communicate with the front office staff regarding your child’s absence, please call the front office anytime after 8:15 am to avoid the front office phone call congestion.

You are cordially invited to the Logrando Bienestar - Achieve Well-Being parent workshops this Tuesday, January 17 the topic is Bullying at 5:00 - 6:00 pm. On January 29, the topic is Depression and on February 5, 2023, the focus is Anxiety. You are welcome to join us in the E.O. Green cafeteria. The presentation is in English. The same topics are provided in Spanish at Blackstock JHS on the exact dates and times. We are providing the English workshop for GREEN and Blackstock families. Please see the details in the flier below. We hope you make it to these excellent workshops.

This week our HORNETS participated in the GREEN Jr. High Behavior Expectations assembly. The school rules were reviewed so your student continues to follow them and thrive. Excellent job, Hornets!

Doorbell

We have a doorbell outside the office for visitors to use when they want to come inside the office. An office staff member will press the buzzer to unlock the door and allow the visitor to enter.

Visitors will receive a badge with their name and picture on it to identify them as they visit our campus.

ASES Remote Door Ringer

The after-school program , ASES and Enrichment / SHINE, have a doorbell ringer. It is remote and rings on the after-school Coordinator's cellular phone ( Ms. Odalis Perez). The front gate remains locked at all times.

Message From The Health Office:

Reminder to Parents:

The health office is a busy place. We have seen an increase in students coming to the health office that appear to be using the COVID protocols as a way to get out of class. Please talk with your student about not coming to the health office unless they are genuinely not feeling well. Also, COVID is still present and we are following the current Ventura County Public Health guidelines so please have a plan for who can pick up your student in case your student is sent home sick. Any COVID symptoms still require a negative COVID test result for the student to return to school. We want students in class as much as possible while looking out for your students' health and safety. Thank you for your help.

COVID Symptom Reminder and Return to School Requirements

As a reminder, at no time is it acceptable to send students to school when they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, and especially if they have received a positive test result (laboratory based OR at-home test). Please make sure to report all positive cases to your students’ school.

Temperature Screening: Please screen your child at home each day for fever or symptoms and do not send your child to school if he/she is symptomatic or sick.

Students are to stay HOME if:

-If your student does not feel well, keep them home.

-If your student has any COVID-like symptoms, keep them home.

Home tests or antigen tests are now accepted

-Thank you for keeping our school community safe.
