Ranger News week of May 27, 2019
Ranger Patrons,
The final week of school is full of opportunity and celebration! For the sake of keeping this information organized, I have arranged this week’s letter by activity.
Final Exams are scheduled to occur this week. Language arts and social studies final exams will be given on Wednesday, and math and science final exams will be given on Thursday.
Yearbooks will be distributed to students that ordered in advance on Tuesday of this week. A limited number of yearbooks remain and will be sold on a first-come, first served basis. The cost is $20.
Lockers, library books and other materials. Student locks will be collected on Wednesday through first period classes. Students must submit either a school-issued lock or $5 for a missing lock in order to be eligible for the Ranger Olympics on the last day of school, Monday, June 3. Students are advised to leave valuables at home, and outerwear will be stowed in first period classes for retrieval at the end of the school day. Ranger Olympics eligibility will also hinge on being in good standing with library books and/or fines.
The Sky Zone Jump Party for Ranger-to-the-CORE students is scheduled to occur Friday morning. Wednesday is the final day that eligible students (1 or less disciplinary logs and 0 discipline referral for the final grading period) may submit permission slips and money. The trip is limited to the first 180 students that make reservations.
Awards programs are scheduled to occur Friday in the Ranger Fieldhouse; 8th grade at 12:15 PM, 7th grade at 1:30 PM. Be mindful that these awards are not a graduation where every student is awarded. Rather, this is an opportunity for students that have distinguished themselves in curricular and extra-curricular pursuits to be recognized. The guardians of those being called to the stage for recognition will be contacted Tuesday evening via a robocall made to the contact number listed in the student information system. Family members are welcome and asked to check in at the front office 15 minutes before the beginning of the program.
Report cards will be sent home with students at the end of the day Friday, May 31. Misplaced report cards will be held for parent pick-up in the main office through Friday, June 7.
The final day of school will occur on Monday, June 3. This will be a competition and activity day for those in good standing with locks and library books. Please contact Dr. Kleine directly at 317.532.8904 if you wish to make arrangements for missing locks or library books that will also allow your student to be eligible for activities on the last day of school. Buses will be dismissed to buses and cars at 1:30 PM on the last day of school.
2019-2020
RP's configuration and start time are just a few of the changes coming to RP and Warren Township next year. Looking Ahead to the Next School Year is attached below that will provide greater information regarding those changes.
RP is looking for your feedback in fine-tuning the standardized wear policy next year. Please follow the link to complete MSD Warren's Uniformly Dressed Parent Survey for 5-8 grade.
For those who are into countdowns, there are just 9 weeks left until the opening of the 2019-2020 school year! Registration dates have been set and parent/guardian will have two opportunities for parents to register, receive student schedules and tour the building. Tuesday, July 16, 12-8 PM, is targeted for 5th and 6th grade students as parents will have an opportunity to meet their student's grade level administrator and counselor. Wednesday, July 17, 12-8 PM, is targeted for 7th and 8th grade parents as 7th and 8th grade grade level administrators and counselors will be present. Parents are welcome to attend either/both registration opportunities as their schedule allows to register their 5th-8th grade students.
