Depth and Complexity Framework - Module 1
In the early 90s, Bette Gould and Sandra Kaplan developed a differentiation framework to help teachers ensure gifted and talented students were being challenged with critical thinking skills as they worked with content. What evolved became a valuable resource adopted by many state departments of education and gifted education programs across the country.
This framework can be applied to any content, subject or grade level.

Creative thinking ability does not imply artistic or musical talent. Creative thinkers show potential to demonstrate notably unique, prolific, distinguishable, or flexible ideas as compared to others of their age, experience, or environment.
This module will help you understand:
- screening protocols for Creative Thinking Ability
- ways creativity can be measured
- implications and ideas for gifted service
- options for writing WEP goals
This module is ideal for any K-12 gifted service provider who may be responsible for gifted service for Creative Thinking Ability.

OAGC PARENT HANDBOOK
Don't let the title fool you--this resource is great for teachers, too! The Ohio Association for Gifted Children Parent Handbook is packed full with clear explanations about identification and service, differentiation, resources for social-emotional support, and suggestions for parent-teacher conferences. Be sure to check out pages 6 and 7 for both positive and negative behaviors that can evolve from common gifted traits as well as common myths and misconceptions that lead to gifted students feeling misunderstood.
