ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT - Week of March 26, 2023
HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
GIRLS LACROSSE
GOLF
On Wednesday, the Eagles were able to protect their nest in the season opener against the Blue Devils from Hammonton winning 174-183. Johnny Neveling and Mikey Oberman led the way with matching 42s. Chase Adomaitis and Juliana Duggan rounded out the scoring, each shooting 45. The season is off to a flying start as the team was also named one of the team's to watch by Press of Atlantic City (see attachment). Next week will consist of early season tests as the young birds will match up against Mainland and Millville on Tuesday at Linwood Country Club followed by the prestigious Garden State Cup at Blue Heron Pines on Wednesday.

BASEBALL
The Baseball team recently took a three-night trip to the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for spring training. Overall, the trip was outstanding, preparing the team for the upcoming 2023 season. The team played 6 scrimmage games verse teams from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, while also conducting 2 practices at the awesome Ripken facility. The trip will provide a lifetime of memories for the team.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
The girls track and field team had a successful start to the season. The girls have been busy working extra hard.
A few of the girls had a chance to go to Slaybaugh to read to multiple K-3 classes with the STAR (Student-Athletes Reading) program. The girls also enjoyed a day practicing with our unified track and field team.
The team opens up their season next Wednesday against Vineland.
SPRING SPORTS
The following spring sports start practice this week: Baseball, Softball, Boys Tennis, Girls Lacrosse, Boys Lacrosse, Golf, Boys Volleyball, Girls Crew and Boys Crew. Check the Athletics Department newsletter each week for updates on your favorite teams.
