We are so excited to get this year started! As you know, the first four weeks (September 8 - October 5) of school will be virtual. The first day of school is on Tuesday, September 8th. We will start our morning meetings at 8:00 a.m. The link to the first Zoom meeting will be included in this newsletter so every child has access to their first morning meeting of the year. We will also include a link to our 5th grade website (a virtual hub with information for students and families).
This week we will focus on SEL, building community and logistics for virtual learning. Our goal is for the class to get to know each other by sharing interests and experiences. We encourage you to help your son/daughter find a quiet space for virtual learning. Somewhere they can focus with minimal distractions. Waking up for an 8:00 am meeting may be a rude awakening for some, but please encourage them to change out of pjs and find a space other than their cozy bed for our sessions together.
We have had so much fun getting to know everyone this past week and hope to build on those relationships! Can't wait for the first day of school!
