Happy New Year! We hope everyone had some time to relax over the Winter Break. We have a few updates to share with our community!
Montessori Morning Coffee With Principal Pallin Coming Up Monday, January 29th 7:30-8am
Families please mark your calendar for Monday, January 29th! Childcare will be available on the playground for parents/guardians. Details to follow. Coffee will be provided. Feel free to bring a breakfast item to share! We’ll meet in the library! Presentations throughout 2024 will include Montessori materials, Montessori practices, Ways to Bring Montessori into the Home, and District-Wide Updates!
Future City
Walking through the classrooms has been enjoyable this week. Our Adolescent Program students participated in a Future City competition. This video outlines the Future City program. This year's challenge is "Electrify Your Future" and students had to research and brainstorm solutions to electrify a city using green, clean, and renewable energy.
The models are ONE PART of the competition. Students worked collaboratively in teams to create an essay, presentation, model, and to host a Q and A session with a judge. Check out some photos below!
JK/SK Enrollment Events
This will be opportunity to find out more about the Wauwatosa School and the JK/SK programs.
Principal Pallin will be at both events to answer any questions you may have about JK/SK or just the Montessori program in general.
The events are - Saturday, January 6th from 10-12pm at McKinley Elementary School and Saturday, January 13th from 10-12pm at Wilson Elementary.
Lights on Tosa
This is an open house format with an opportunity to visit Wauwatosa Montessori to learn about our program, meet the principal and have a self-guided tour of the school. This is open to all families interested in attending our school or who are new to the district or have a 4K student just getting started in school. It will be held on Tuesday, February 6th from 5:30-7pm. More information to come at a later date.
All School Read Announcement Coming Soon!
We will be announcing our All School Read title by early next week and having an assembly to spread excitement about the book and the Literacy Night that will follow! Please stay tuned!

About Libby Quinn:
Libby comes to us with a Master's in Social Work from UW Milwaukee. Her undergraduate degree focused on anthropology and environmental science. She has a passion for caring for the environment and for peace. As a social worker, she finds herself striving to become more empathetic, knowing when to challenge kids and when to extend grace. Below is a little more from Libby:
"As a school social worker, I hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my students, whether that be connecting them to resources outside of school, providing them with emotional support, teaching them social and emotional coping skills, or assisting in their academic planning. I see my role as that of a support person. Students have multifaceted lives and at school we only get to see a small part of that. It is my hope that I can build connections with students so that I can make an impact. Believing in kids and watching them believe in themselves is so inspiring."
