DES had two students recognized for their MCAS scores by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Both students received Exceeds Expectations or Progressing on the MCAS 2022 and MCAS-ALT in either English Language Arts or Math.

Congratulations to them both!

Students in M3 work on their cumulative Cinderella Unit project which showcases their ability to compare the themes and topics of stories, traditional literature, and myths from different cultures! The students read Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters (Africa), Rough Face Girl (Native American), Irish Cinderlad (Ireland) and the Egyptian Cinderella (Egypt). The students enjoyed learning all about the different cultures represented in the text

Students in grades 3 and 4 attended an assembly today on What it Means to be Kind. Students also reviewed What bullying Is s and what strategies they could use should they see, or be involved in, bullying. The PowerPoint that was reviewed, as well as videos, are attached below.

This is a special event night as it is their Teddy Bear Toss!
Bring a teddy bear and throw it on the ice and all teddy bears will go to children at the Hasbro Children's Hospital.
There will be lots of fun raffles and prizes that day and each student will receive a FREE PBruins hat! Need tickets?
