A message from our Upper Campus Head of School, Dr. Priscilla Noble
Hello GLOBE families,
It is truly wonderful to have the opportunity to share in-person events again. On Monday evening, our 7th and 8th grade bands played together in concert for the first time this year. The students were able to bring their many separate talents into cohesion (despite not often being able to practice together). Click the image to view it in full. You can also watch a short video clip of the band playing, here. Kudos to their Band Director, Mrs. Julie Gerhardt.
We would also like to share a few pictures. The first shows one of our students making the morning announcements and sharing a few details about their country of origin. This is followed by some of our students rehearsing for the Hispanic Heritage performance that will take place at the school next Friday, October 14. Please refer to the details in our campus notes, below.
These are great opportunities for the entire school to come together and enjoy each other's talents, while also learning a little about their culture. This week we also had Ruth Córdova and Ruth María Córdova teach our 5th grade students the correct way to make Guatemalan tortillas.
Our teachers are enjoying meeting our GLOBE families at the parent / teacher conference days, today and tomorrow. I would also like to wish you all a safe and happy fall break and we look forward to seeing students back at school on Tuesday, October 11.
Please be sure to scroll down this newsletter for other important information.
