August 1, 2023
From Mr. Korntheuer, Principal
A lot of great things have happened at North over the summer. Many of you participated in camps with your teams and activities both on campus and off. We had a great turnout for our Summer Bridge programs and there were many projects completed to the building itself-- we are ready to go!
There are all kinds of different events, important dates, and information we want to share with you to make the busy start of the year a little more manageable. Please read through the information below and feel free to reach out if you have questions.
I can't wait to see all the great things students are going to do in the classroom, in the gym, on stage, in the community, and on the field this year!
Welcome back and GO FALCONS!
Mr. Korntheuer

In addition to support, our Student Services Department oversees the safety and security of our school campus. Please help us to ensure the safety of our students and staff by following the guidance below:
School Hours
Our building is open for students from 6:30am-2:30 pm. Students are permitted at school beyond those hours only when they’re supervised by a staff member for a specific club, sport, etc.
Student Drop-Off/Pick-Up Locations
We will have 5 campus doors unlocked and supervised before school each morning. These entrances also serve as our student drop-off/pick-up locations: 1) the main entrance/circle drive (Door 1), 2) the bus doors east of the main entrance (Door 34), 3) the athletic/field house entrance (Door 7), 4) the art/music entrance off Morse Street (Door 16), and 5) the east side of the building off Papworth (Door 31). They are all locked once school begins at 7:20 am. Students who arrive later can only enter through the main entrance. Please do not drop off/pick-up students in the visitors’/staff parking lot in front of the school or in the staff parking lot behind the school off Papworth.
Daily Attendance & Doctor Appointments
Please call the Attendance Office (630-784-7334) by 10:00 a.m. on the day of your student’s absence. (You may also leave a message on our spanish line at 630-784-3507.) If a call to document an absence is not received by 10 a.m., the absence will be considered unexcused. Regular daily attendance is necessary for students to stay engaged, successful and on track for graduation (www.attendanceworks.org).
If your student has to leave for an appointment during the school day, please call the Attendance Office in advance of the appointment. It is then your student’s responsibility to pick up a pass from the Attendance Office so they can leave class early for their appointment. The Attendance Office is located at the front of our building, off the Commons.
Tardy Policy
Our automated tardy system tracks student tardies per semester. Students are tardy when they are late to school or not in their classroom when the bell rings. Tardy students report to the Attendance Office where they are issued a pass to class with a warning or consequence based on their total number of tardies for the semester.
Student Parking
Only seniors are allowed to park on campus. A completed application and $150 fee are required to purchase a hanging tag. A lottery for Juniors will be conducted if open spots remain on campus after the first few weeks of school. There is also limited free public parking on Thomas east of Papworth, south on Darling, and in the Northside Park parking lot. For questions regarding parking passes, please contact Mrs. Huitron, adriana.huitron@cusd200.org or 630.784.7324.
The application form will be temporarily closed while the current requests are processed. All current parking pass requests that have been paid and properly submitted will be available for pickup next Tuesday, August 8 at schedule and materials pickup. The form will reopen for new parking pass requests on Wednesday, August 9.
Student Deliveries Not Permitted
As in past years, students are not permitted to receive deliveries at school in order to maintain a safe and secure building. This includes food deliveries, as well as items forgotten at home (homework, game/practice clothes and equipment, etc.) and delivered by family members. We appreciate your help in keeping our buildings safe and secure.
We’re here to be your partners throughout your student’s high school experience, so please reach out with questions or ways we can help: Assistant Principal for Student Services, Dr. Pavlini at 630-784-7306 or julie.pavlini@cusd200.org

Here are a couple of reminders to keep in mind before school begins:
Day 1: Normal Bell Schedule- No Late Start
This is a reminder that the first day of school, Wednesday, August 16th, is NOT a late start day!
Our first late start day will be the following week, Wednesday, August 23rd.
Technology Center of DuPage (TCD)
Students who will be attending TCD this fall should meet in the commons at 7:20 AM on the first day of school.
Thank you!
FROM THE ACTIVITIES DEPARTMENT
This is a friendly reminder that for the 2023-2024 school year, all students participating in a club, sport or competitive activity must be registered through FamilyID. If you have previously registered your student for a past athletic season or summer camp, you may use the same account to select an Activities program.
Please click here to register your student. Students registering for Competitive Music Activities (Marching Band, Color Guard, Show Choir) will need to upload a current (within 13 months) physical as well as the signed IHSA form, consent/waiver, and Code of Conduct to complete the registration and be approved to participate. Physicals must be uploaded in the Participant section. The Athletic office does not accept any paper copies.
SAVE THE DATE FOR HOMECOMING WEEK: October 1st-7th!
Please reach out to the Activities Office at 630-784-7316 with any questions.
FROM THE ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT
You will need to register your athlete to try out for Fall Athletics on the Family ID website. No fees will be due until final rosters are set, but all students must be registered and approved to try out for their sport. Fall sports begin August 7th. Please visit the registration page on the WN Athletics website for information and links.
Additionally, we will need a current physical (within 13 months) on file. If you need a last minute sports physical before the fall season starts, try your nearby Walgreens Advocate clinic or CVS minute clinics. Physicals are always uploaded in the Participant section. As a reminder, the Athletic office does not accept any paper copies.
Any questions, please reach out to Lynnette in the Athletics Office 630-784-7318.
