Patriot Peek at the Week News
May 15th-19th
Dear Wolf Ridge Students and Families,
We will celebrating the accomplishments of our kindergarten, eighth grade, and senior students this week. We will first celebrate our kindergarten students with a Kindergarten Farewell on Wednesday at 6:00PM at Wolf Ridge. Next, our 8th grade students will be honored during a promotion ceremony on Thursday at 7:00PM at BHHS. Lastly, we will have the Bunker Hill High School Graduation ceremony on Friday at 7:00PM at BHHS. Whether completing their first year, making it through junior high, or receiving a high school diploma, each of these grade levels have completed a special time in their educational journey. We are happy to recognize these milestones, and we invite you to celebrate with us.

Erin's Law Presentations at W.R. - May 15th & 16th
The below letter was sent out via email and sent home with students this week.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Bunker Hill School District #8 has invited a speaker to come from Macoupin
County Public Health Department for instruction of Erin’s Law, House Bill-HB
6193 (P.A. 97-1147). Erin’s Law states; “Programs should include techniques
to teach children to recognize sexual abuse. Equip them with skills to reduce
their vulnerability and encourage them to report the abuse."
We want all our students to feel empowered and have the knowledge they
need to help keep them safe. Other concepts that will be included in this
presentation include:
• Knowing what an uncomfortable touch is
• Knowing they have the POWER to say “STOP” and/or “NO”
• Keep NO Secrets
• It’s not the child’s fault if someone touches him or her
All students will participate in this prevention education. Presentations
will be provided to classes at Wolf Ridge on May 15th and 16th and to
students at BHHS on May 17th . These presentations will last
approximately 20-30 minutes and be modified to be age appropriate.
If you prefer that your child opt-out of this mandated prevention education session, please submit your request in writing to your child’s teacher.
If you have any questions, please contact me via email at sronen@bhcusd.org.
