Mrs. Ashley Gammon
When asked if there is anything that she would like students to know, she stated “My family and I moved to Michigan in 2015. I grew up in Indiana and lived in Germany and North Carolina during my husband's 20-year career in the Army. Michigan found us for sure and over the years it has grown on me and really feels like home. I love plants and essential oils. If you have spent time with me in the library you know that:)”.
When asked what made her choose Dryden, she stated “I feel like Dryden chose us. Michigan was never on our radar when we talked about where we would retire when my husband got out of the Army. A strange assignment originally brought us here and we never left. We were only supposed to be here for three years. We took some really big risks and in the end, it all worked out to be perfect! I would choose Dryden over and over again!”.
When asked what her favorite thing is about Dryden, she stated: “The small town feels for sure! I love the connections you can make with the people. I have a lot of friends here that have become family! It’s nice to have great people that you can depend on”.
When asked what colleges/universities she has attended, she responded “After high school, I went to a local community college and then was accepted into a nursing program at Marion University in Indianapolis, IN. I didn’t finish but would like to go back one day. I made a conscious decision to raise my girls during my husband's career in the Army. I don’t regret my decision and am here to say that it’s never too late to go back to school. But also, as a mom, I encourage you to focus on your career choice first:)”.
When asked if she had any words of motivation for students, she said “Be kind! You can do many things in life, but people will always remember the way you made them feel. You never truly know what someone is going through. Your one act of kindness or a simple smile will be something someone remembers for a lifetime! Especially if you made them feel good on a bad day”.

She is one of a kind and we are so lucky to have her at Dryden!”. The most valuable thing that Mrs. Gammon taught her, is to always be kind.
