What is DNA? Where do you find it? What kind of information does it provide? Extract real DNA from fruit and learn about its chemical and physical properties, as well as how it can be analyzed. This class is specifically for our 3rd-5th grade students.

The spring conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, February 4th, 2020, Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 and Thursday, February 6th, 2020.

Longmont Estates Elementary will continue to use the online conference scheduler called Meet the Teacher. By now you should have received an email from Infinite Campus. Please make sure this message did not end up in your spam folder! This email will contain all of the information you will need to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences.

Appointments can be made now until Monday, February 3rd at 8:00am. Should you wish to make any changes after this date please contact the school office. Please visit https://longmontestates.meettheteacher.com to book your appointments.

If you do not have access to the internet, please contact us and we will be happy to add appointments on your behalf.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school. It's a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child's reading habits.

Dear Longmont Estates Families,

I am so excited to announce that Altona Middle School is hosting the College Funding Coach on Tuesday, February 11th 6:00-7:30 pm. This event is for any family wanting to learn how to pay for college (Preschool - High School). The College Funding Coach was founded in 2002 to help families better understand the complexities of paying for college and make higher education more affordable. Since that time, The College Funding Coach team have been on a mission to help families save on the high cost of higher education. The College Funding Coach’s founder, Brock Jolly, realized that most families want to help pay for their children’s education; but they often lack the liquidity and/or the cash flow to be able to do so. The College Funding Coach has established an approach that helps parents understand the college funding process, reduce their out-of-pocket expenses, and balance the challenge of saving for college and retirement simultaneously.

Paper order forms will be coming home soon.

This will be the only opportunity to order a yearbook. Extras will not be available in the office. Friday, March 6th, 2020 is the deadline to turn in an order for your 2019-2020 yearbook.

Yearbooks will be distributed on Friday, May 15th.

On Wednesday, February 26, 2020 the Sunshine Dental Clinic will be at Longmont Estates Elementary. Good dental habits are important and need to be established early in life. A free dental clinic to inspect your child's teeth will be offered to our school (1st-5th grade only).

Children that have been seen by a dentist in the past 6 months DO NOT qualify to be seen in the clinic. Children also DO NOT qualify to be seen if they have private dental insurance or Medicaid.

If you are interested and want your child to be seen, please fill out the permission slip below and return it to your child's teacher or drop it off in the health office, no later than Thursday, February 13th, 2020.

If your child is receiving regular care by a dentist, or you are just not interested, there is no need to fill out or return the permission slip. If you have any questions please contact the office.

Please join our Counselor, MaryAnn Spence, in a book study on The Yes Brain: How to Cultivate Courage, Curiosity, and Resilience in Your Child. Written by New York Times Best Seller authors Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson, The Yes Brain helps give parents information and tips on cultivating balance, resilience, insight, and empathy in their children to help nurture their positive potential.
