Labor Day ~ September 7th
Dear Liberty Park Families,
In Person Families:
- During the month of September, your child will take a NWEA MAP Growth test on their iPad. MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students. MAP Growth tests are unique, and it adapts to your child’s responses to measure your child’s skill level. If your child answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. These results will provide a more complete picture of what your child knows and is ready to learn—whether it is on, above, or below their grade level. Results from these assessments will be shared with parents once testing is complete. If you have questions about this test or want to know specific dates your child will be taking these assessments please reach out to your child's teacher.
Virtual Families:
- Don’t forget that we will continue to distribute breakfast and lunches for all VIRTUAL students on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 8AM-9:30AM at Moorhead Community Resource Center. We have also added a Tuesday distribution time in the evening from 4:30-6:30PM.

Meet a New Patriot!
~Mrs. Kelsey Rowe - Resource Teacher~
Hi everyone! My name is Kelsey Rowe and I grew up in Noblesville, Indiana. Following my graduation from high school, I attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. While living in Alabama for four years, I became an Alabama fan! Roll Tide! Following college graduation, I moved back to Indiana and accepted a job as an instructional assistant; here I discovered a love for special education. That fall I started a graduate program at Marian University to pursue my teaching license. My goal as a special education teacher is to be a positive role model for my students! Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and friends, sailing, and reading. My favorite people are pictured below- Conley and furry friends Taly and Hank (black Great Dane, 6 months at picture). I’m thrilled to be part of the Liberty Park family!

Notes from Nurse Kelly
All vaccines need to be up to date. Nurse Kelly has sent out several notices to students who are not up to date. Please call the Health Dept to schedule those shots asap. Health Dept 317-221-7300. Warren Township's exclusion date for vaccine compliance is September 21st. Schools are required by law to exclude students who remain noncompliant after this date until they are fully vaccinated. Indiana Code IC 20-34-4-5. THIS INCLUDES VIRTUAL STUDENTS.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY FORMS. These forms came home the first day of school. It is very important to fill these out and return them to the school as soon as possible. If you have not turned in a Medical Emergency Form, another form will be sent home in the next few days. Please fill it out and return it to school asap. This is a very important form.
All medication must be brought to school by a parent and signed into the clinic. Students are never to transport any medications in a backpack. This includes prescriptions, over-the-counter meds such as Tylenol, cough drops, Motrin, etc.
Reminder: WE ARE A PEANUT FREE SCHOOL.
Parent VUE Portal
Synergy has a ParentVUE portal that parents can use to monitor students grades, attendance and discipline. Parents can view their students "Warren Password" on the ParentVUE Student Info tab. Parents can click on Student Info and then scroll to the bottom of the page. They will see their students' passwords right below the bus information.
Boys & Girls Club
Student iPads and Chromebooks
Students who are physically present at Liberty Park for the 20-21 school year are asked to bring their devices back to school with them as soon as possible.
Items to be returned are:
iPad or Chromebook
Charging/Power Cord
Device Case
Students who are participating in virtual learning will keep their devices at home with them in order to support their learning. If students have not brought devices back to school yet, please do so next week! These devices are needed in the classroom for different learning activities. We appreciate your support in getting devices returned to school as soon as possible!
COVID Screening and Quarantine Information:
MSD Warren's S.A.F.E Reopening Plan provides a comprehensive framework within which students and staff can be safe. Our staff will continue to emphasize social distancing, hand washing/sanitizing, and face coverings with students. Parents are reminded that students exhibiting symptoms should be kept at home, and that the school response to positive cases will be consistent with Warren's Plan. Please don't hesitate to reach out to teachers, counselor, administrators with questions or concerns - We are in this together!
Thank you for taking time each morning to screen your child before coming to school each day. Please continue to do so. Below are symptoms impacting consideration for exclusion from school:
Students and employees should be excluded from school if they test positive for COVID-19 or exhibit two or more of the symptoms of COVID-19 that are not otherwise explained based on ISDH / MCPHD guidance. If in doubt, please don't hesitate to call school at 317-532-1850 for some guidance. We appreciate your support in doing this important screening step each day before sending students to school.

Counselor's Corner
We want your child to be as successful as possible at school. Success in school is not just about reading and math. It is also about knowing how to learn and how to get along with others. We will be using the Second Step program in your child’s classroom to teach critical skills in these four areas.
1. Skills for Learning: Students gain skills to help themselves learn, including how
to focus their attention, listen carefully, use self-talk to stay on task, and be
assertive when asking for help with schoolwork.
2. Empathy: Students learn to identify and understand their own and others’
feelings. Students also learn how to take another’s perspective and how to
show compassion.
3. Emotion Management: Students learn specific skills for calming down when
experiencing strong feelings, such as anxiety or anger.
4. Problem Solving: Students learn a process for solving problems with others in
a positive way. Your child will be learning a lot this year—and he or she will
need your help!
Throughout the year, your child will be bringing home Home Links that go with several of the Second Step lessons. Home Links are simple, fun activities for you and your child to complete together. They are a great way for you to understand what your child is learning and for your child to show you what he or she knows. Use your child's grade code to set up an account at secondstep.org.
Home Links Codes:

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
