Remote Learning | Schedule
Please see the remote learning schedule below. If you have questions, please shoot us an email or give us a call. Please note this has not changed and we have full confidence that this is our final schedule.
We tried to be as consistent as possible across grade levels. Because our special areas (art, music, and PE) have to be synchronous, we had to spread them throughout the day as we would if we were on campus. Because there are different blocks for those special areas, the schedule cannot be the same for each grade level.
Please note that based on TEA guidelines the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade students have the same amount of synchronous instructional minutes and pre-k and kindergarten have the same amount of synchronous instructional minutes.
Also note that all grade level teachers will be in lock step with schedules and assignments. The schedule and these instructional expectations have been created intentionally to accommodate the multiple learning pods that are being formed to help the community distribute the logistical load of remote learning.

Bridge Camp
We're excited to launch the Bear Creek Elementary virtual bridge camp! This is a series of learning experiences that will introduce both parents and students to Bear Creek culture and community. Through the bridge camp course, you and your child will familiarize yourselves with useful tech tools and take time to process elements of an authentic learning partnership between school and home.
Campers, click the link below when you're ready to begin and I'll see you there:
Counselor Connect
As your school counselor, I am super-duper excited to meet all the students that will be joining us this year. In this unusual time, I am trying (like all of us) to CONNECT!
In a MASSIVE effort to meet each and every student "eyeballs to eyeballs" and get to know a bit about them, I would like to schedule a quick Zoom meeting with each student. Ha! This is not a joke:) It is my first and most important goal, to know your kids.
Attached you will find a sign-up sheet for the week of Sept 1-4. I will send out a new signup sheet every week until I have finished my goal! So if you don't find a time that works for you this time. There will be more options in the future.
The Zoom link is included. One link for all time slots. Your child will be placed in the waiting room until I let them enter their session. 1 student at a time.
Feel free to email me with questions (alyssa.sheeran@austinisd.org)
I look forward to meeting with your student soon!
