I want to thank everyone who joined us at Open House this past week. It was wonderful to see so many of our families and we had an excellent turnout! If you were unable to attend, please do not hesitate to reach out to your student's teachers for any missed information!

Drop Off and Pick-Up Reminder

Please note that all student drop offs i the morning should be at the parent drop off lane by the auditorium. No parent cars should enter by the Hawes pool as that is where the staff parking entrance is located. For pick up, please park in the lot near the auditorium, entering at the south entrance, same as drop off. Having these designated areas helps keep students and staff safe in the morning and afternoon.

New Club Alert!

Cartooning Club is a club for all students that love drawing and anime. It's located in 105 with Mr. Andrews. Currently they meet Wednesdays at 3:30pm but may move the day to avoid honor choir conflicts. we will keep you posted!

We are excited to announce our first ever Grade 6 Halloween Dance sponsored by the Coakley PTO! we could use parent volunteers for the event to hand out snacks and water and parent donations for snacks. lease see the sign up genius linked below! we are also looking for any new or gently used Halloween decorations for the event!

Time: 3:30-5:30

Location: Coakley Gym and café

Cost: $3/student (tickets will go on sale the week of October 23rd.)

We are looking for some new members for the Coakley School Council. The School council is a decision making body comprised of parents, teachers, students, and the principal. We review each year's budget, create a update the School Improvement Plan, and revise the student handbook. If you are interested, please email Dr. Fraczek at mfraczek@norwood.k12.ma.us!

PTO Board Openings

The Coakley PTO would like to welcome everyone back to school! The PTO is a parent/teacher organization that helps fund a variety of activities at CMS from assemblies, to field trips, to classroom projects and more. We would love for everyone to be a part of the PTO!

PTO meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm both virtually and in person. The dates are listed below a link to the meeting online is sent out the day of the meeting.

The Coakley Middle School Open House will be on Wednesday, October 4th from 6:00-8:00PM

Parents will meet in the auditorium at 6:00pm for a brief introduction by Dr. Fraczek. From 6:15-8:00pm families will follow an "A" Day schedule to see their students teachers. there will be time at the end to visit B day teachers. Team teachers will be sending home a more detailed schedule with students.

Attention 7th Grade Parents:

Please see the attached letter about Massachusetts 7th grade physical and immunization requirements. If your student has had a physical since 9/1/2022, and you have not yet sent in a copy, please bring/send in a hard copy, email to jkozol@norwood.k12.ma.us, or have the doctor fax to 833-704-1903.

If your child still needs the physical and/or immunizations, please schedule an appointment as soon as possible so that the requirements will be met by the first day of school in September.
