We'd love for you to join us for the 2023 Allen Eagle Run! If you would prefer not to walk or run, you can choose the sleep-in option. :-). My son, Garrett, and I plan to run the 5K. My oldest son, Gavin, will be running in a high school track meet. We're sad he has to miss. Registration information is included below.

I hope to see many of you at Open House on Thursday, March 2nd. We'll be holding our annual Senior Scholarship Auction, so please come visit us in the library after you visit your child's classroom(s), the gym, and the Book Fair. More details are below.

There will be no school Monday, March 6th - Friday, March 10th. Have a great Spring Break!

Eagle Run 2023 - Tomorrow, Feb. 25th

The Allen ISD Eagle Run hosted by the Foundation For Allen Schools has become a true community tradition. The race benefits the Foundation For Allen Schools and the Allen ISD PTA Council. All proceeds directly fund educational classroom grants, teacher support and student scholarships, along with Allen PTA programs and campus projects!

The 2023 Eagle Run involves your choice of a (1) a Fun Run/Walk (1 mile), (2) 5K Run/Walk on a USATF Certified Course (3) A Sleep in Entry (for those who simply want the shirt or (4) A Virtual Race- perfect for anyone who wants to run but cannot be with us in person on race day. Virtual Racers can complete their race from wherever they live!

It's going to be a year to remember and as always this event is perfect for the whole family! Whether you come in person, choose the sleep in option or select to take part virtually, you can feel good knowing that your participation has a direct impact on students and teachers in all Allen ISD Schools!

***Our school goal for the Eagle Run is to have 150 enrollments. If we hit this goal, students will get to watch cartoons during lunch one day. In addition, the top two classes will receive a pizza party during their lunchtime. :-)

So far we have 118 entries! Mrs. Waites class is still in the lead with 13 and Ms. Douglas is behind her with 7 registrations. While our school goal is 150, our next goal to work towards getting there is 125. Once we obtain this, we'll have a fun reward for the students.

GATE Academy / Gifted & Talented

The Gifted & Talented department will host a webinar for parents providing information on the GATE Academy at Vaughan Elementary and the lottery selection process for the 2023-2024 school year. This year’s informational meeting will be held via Zoom webinar on March 30, 2023 at 6:00 pm. Interested viewers may join using the link here. Registration is not required. The GATE Academy lottery is open to Allen ISD students currently in grades K-5 who are already identified for gifted/talented services.

Kindergarten Enrollment

You don't have to have prior experience helping in the library, just know your ABC's :)
