Coloma Junior High
Family Newsletter for the Week of 9/25/23
It's Homecoming Week!!!
This week is a fun and busy week at the Junior High. We love our dress up days and participating in all of the games at the assemblies on Friday. Here are some important tips that you need to know about Homecoming.
Friday Activities
- If you need to pick up your child on Friday 9/29, please know that they will be involved in assembly activities starting at 1pm. It will take additional time for us to get your child to you for an early pick up.
- All JH students will be participating in the JH activities from 1:00pm - 2:00pm
- Students may have the opportunity to purchase limited slots to participate in the All District Assembly games. Slots will be 5 CARE Cards and available for sign up on Wednesday, 9/27 during lunches. All students will attend the District Assembly
Dress Up Days
- We encourage everyone to participate in the dress up days, but remember you must still be able to participate in all of your classes, including PE. Plan your outfits accordingly.
- The dress code still applies
- Hats may be worn if it is part of the dress up day outfit.
Homecoming Swag
We have the Homecoming Swag that you need to make that Green and Gold outfit complete. One of kind Comet Socks are available for sale in the JH Office ($12 a pair), we have both youth and adult sizes.

Student Illness
This is the time of year that we begin to see an increase in student illness. Here are some reminders for when your child is ill.
Students must be vomit and fever free for 24 (without medication) before returning to school in order to protect other students from infection. If your child is running a fever or vomiting at school, someone will be required to pick them up from school.
Halloween Dance set for November 1st 5pm - 7pm
We have set our Halloween Dance for November 1st. This dance is a No Referral Party. Students will qualify to attend by not having any discipline referrals from 9/20 - 11/1. We will provide more details as we get closer.
