A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
As part of our focus on belonging as FHS, last week students from Best Buddies shared the following message.
Best Buddies is an FHS and worldwide organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At Franklin we need to take actions to demonstrate that everyone belongs. Inclusion is essential for every individual with or without intellectual or developmental disabilities. Everyone deserves to feel included. We challenge you to take a moment out of your day to make someone feel included, this could be something as simple as saying hi or smiling to someone in the hallway, inviting someone to sit next to you at lunch, or helping a classmate in class. Step up not back Franklin and spread the word for inclusion!
Every moment our students and staff have matters, so let’s make the most of them this week!
Sincerely,
Mike Vuolo
