To the Hillcrest PTO,

I am thankful that you are a part of the Hillcrest Family. Thank you for the countless hours of planning that went into our family BINGO event. It was a fabulous night with over one hundred people in attendance. Thank you for helping our school family unite and have an evening of fun together.

I want to personally and publicly thank you for your dedication to making our school a better place for our students and staff. We love the touches you have added to our building such as the flower pots, the bench in the entry way of the school, the soon to be floor mats and the landscaping that will be installed by the new sign. Thank you for the "Bad Day Bin"- a place where staff can go if they need something to lift them up after (or during) a rough day. I am also thankful for the meals that you have provided the staff this school year.

I am grateful to work alongside this team. Your dedication is appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

I am looking forward to many more successes this school year!

The two snow days that we had due to winter weather will be made up on the Tuesday and Wednesday after Memorial Day. The dates are: May 28 and May 29

Thank you for your patience on our eLearning Day. It did not go as planned. The district has made some tweaks to ensure that if there were ever another eLearning Day in the future, we are prepared!

Mr. McDizzle visited Hillcrest Elementary School in early January. He is the author of the rap, KYHFOOTY. He reminded us that it is okay to have big feelings such as anger, frustration, and even happiness. However, it is important that we keep everyone SAFE. This is a commitment that we have as a Hornet. We must always keep our hands, feet, and other objects to ourself. There are other strategies we can use to express our feelings to keep ourselves and those around us safe.
