A Message from Mr. Hawkins

Parents and Guardians,

Daily school attendance is important. Students who attend school on a regular basis have been shown to achieve at higher levels than their peers who do not attend or have sporadic attendance. Additionally, research has shown that teacher effectiveness is an important factor for increasing student achievement. When students don't attend school, a teacher's ability to increase student achievement is diminished. As a community, we need to work together to make sure the students of Galesburg are attending school.

We are excited to have students back in the building, and we are ready to work with you in providing a top-notch educational experience for our students.

Marching Streaks at the Parade

Our Galesburg High School Marching Streaks have had a very successful season. So far they have received top honors at two marching band competitions.

Galesburg Area Vocational Center

Students at Galesburg High School have the opportunity to enroll in courses with the Galesburg Area Vocational Center. The center is newly remodeled and very spacious, providing our students with a top-notch experience. Contact your student's counselor for information.

Varsity Football at the Parade

Every year it is a tradition that the varsity football team rides upon the fire truck during the Homecoming Parade. Thank you to the Galesburg Fire Department for allowing this tradition to continue.

Student Reminders

Student Identification- Students must wear their ID’s around their neck as intended at all times in the building during the school day. The ID must be visible and worn outside of the students’ clothing.

Lunch- Galesburg High School is a closed campus. This means that students are not allowed to leave campus to get lunch. Our servery is newly remodeled and provides many nutritious choices for our students. Additionally, our new student commons provides students with a spacious atmosphere to enjoy lunch with their friends.
Start Time- On a regular school day, school starts at 7:40 a.m. This means students are expected to be seated in their classrooms, ready to learn, at 7:40 a.m.

Restrooms- Our restrooms have been newly remodeled. Please use the restrooms appropriately.
