WHS Athletics News
On March 10-12th, we had a number of students compete in wrestling and bowling at the State Tournament.
- Thane McCoy finished 6th at State in wrestling and is 2x All-Ohio (only the 2nd WHS wrestler to do so). Thane has had 145 career wins!
- Kylie Fisher (10th grade) finished 5th at the State Bowling Tournament and made 1st Team All Ohio!
We're proud of all our WHS athletes that competed at the State tournament (see March Newsletter). It takes grit, courage, and a lot of hard work to compete at that level. #HurricanePride

Awareness Topics for April
There are a number of topics designated for awareness in April and we wanted to highlight some resources for a few of them:
- Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month
- Child Abuse Prevention Month
- Distracted Driving Awareness Month
We are also sharing information regarding vaping for parents that may be looking for conversation starters. Vaping has rapidly become a cause for concern among teens across the country.
National Distracted Driving Awareness Month
Did you know that at 55 mph, sending or reading a text is like driving the length of a football field with your eyes closed? Crashes involving distracted driving kill thousands and injure 100s of thousands each year in the US. Learn more about types of driving distractions, risks to teens/young drivers, and prevention tips at cdc.gov/transportationsafety/distracted_driving.
